When the SEC leaves CBS we're going to get a big dose of "should have been careful what you wish for." It will increase the likelihood of 11 AM kick offs.

After Texas and Oklahoma join there will be moren than one or two "big" games every week so ESPN will want to spread out big games over three time slots to maximize viewers. If you have weekend where stuff like UT-A&M and Oklahoma-Alabama are now available games then even a past shoe-in #1 like Georgia-Florida gets bumped to a less desirable time.

All I know is, not listening to Gary Danielson dick-ride bama every week is going to be a blessing.

You know he’s going to work that bama shite in during big ten games. That’ll piss them off big time.

Because Disney is paying more money than Paramount for those broadcast rights. Same reason ESPN can't show an SEC game that night.

If you think there will never again be an SEC game at 11 AM, then you need help.

ESPN is going to spread out the games so they have as few competing against each other as possible.

Expect lots more of what’s coming in 11 days. Not comforting

You mean to tell me re-runs of NCIS garner better views than the SEC Game of the Week???

They aren’t doing it just to piss off LSU fans. They obviously have data indicating that there are more eyeballs to be had during the day, while most teams and their fans are tailgating or waiting for their night game.

As hard as this is for some of you to understand since we are all on an LSU message board passionately arguing about football 24/7/365, however there is a large large chunk of society that could not care less about CFB or the SEC “game of the week” and many of them would rather watch their shows on Saturday night. Also even if NCIS Mayberry or whatever they are on has less viewers, that doesn’t mean it’s not more profitable, which is after all the main goal of the network. Sports were long considered a loss leader, notice how many adds they run for their shows

The best SEC games will almost all be in primetime on ESPN/ABC, etc once the CBS contract is done. There will be some exceptions but by in large, that will be the case.

Disagree big time. They will put the game of the week on in prime time. And maybe a shitty matchup on SEC network. All the other games will be either 11 or 2:30 as to not compete with their prime time matchup. I’d wager money LSU will have more afternoon kickoffs with the new ESPN contract than they do now.

Yes it does on most Saturday nights. Look it up. And the costs of producing a live FB versus running a rerun makes it often preferable to have the rerun. The rerun is already paid for and people will watch it again or for the first time.

Also counter-programming. If ABC and Fox have games on you can offer something else.
