How do you improve on 3-0???

Don't try to correct me if you're just going to be wrong about the question I was answering.

When Jordan Jefferson is allowed back....I hope it is only to hand out high quality H2O to the starters.

Yeah. I'm glad Les kept the same OC because he understood it was a QB problem.

How many touchdowns did the OC throw last year?

This is what your response was to.

What did Kragthorpe say about about being aggressive this year as compared to last year?

From my Crystal Ball:

Both Jordan Jefferson and Jarret Lee will play in the Alabama game.

Oh, and we'll win in Tuscaloosa and they'll both have something to do with it.

We were 4-0 when Lee took snaps against Tennessee.

Not exactly the brightest line of thinking.

Because coaches are never responsible for outcome.

That's why we've kept Curly Hallman all these years.

No. You're wrong. Give it up, please, for your own sake.

This is the post:

The reason he'd start Jefferson is because he and his staff believe that Jefferson gives LSU a better chance to win. That's the only reason. The same reason why Jefferson started last year.
TheDoc is saying Miles would start Jefferson because Jefferson is Miles' pet player. The question raised by TheDoc's post is: "For what reason would Miles start Jefferson?" The answer is given in my response:
quote:

Now, stop doing that. It's annoying and inaccurate, and it wastes my time and everyone else's time.

In that game Jefferson also had 2 interceptions, and was 3/10 for all of 30 yds. We were down late and needed a drive to win.

Lee engineered that drive.

The vast majority of it.

This is incredibly obvious.

If Les Miles installs him back at starter, where do you sit with this decision?

If he installs him back as starter without any reps and no game reps, then I'd agree. If, however, after getting back to practice and getting into some game situations Miles feels that he, AGAIN, is the best option for LSU to win games, then I will happily support that decision.

Did JLee take over the starting job permanently when JJ was suspended? ...or did he take over the starting job waiting on his return?

I'd suggest that since Jefferson was not kicked off the team, and since Lee had not earned the #1 spot on the field (the opinions of fans do not count, btw) then he stepped up into the #1 role until further notice. He's done well in it, but I don't think he automatically gets to keep it...the best player ought to play, and that decision ought to be up to Miles.

quote:

I don't know about any of you guys, but this is just a situation that will be completely explosive and it sucks that it's a decision that will have to be brought to the forefront.

Agree with this...I hate the whole mess. At the same time, I hate the fact that JJ may very likely have been caught up in something he did not do and fans who have disliked his play over the past few seasons have tossed him under the bus and are hoping he just goes away rather than come back and try and regain his position with the team.

quote:

Will it tear the locker room in half and destroy the season?

Could go either way I'd think. If Miles reinstates him but tells him to frick off (essentially the suggestion of many here) I'd think many of his team mates would see that as a huge slight to JJ if he ends up being cleared of all charges. In that scenario, he will have had his starting job taken away and all chances of ever getting it back removed due to an unfounded legal claim. the only way it would go bad in the reverse I think is if he'd simply plop JJ back under center on day one, which is just not going to happen...or there are players who buy into the same blind loyalty garbage some of our fans do.

quote:

All I know is this is bad. Bad, bad, bad.

Eh...don't jump just yet. I actually trust Miles to navigate this thing to the end. I was hoping JJ would have gotten better under Krags and the new system...and I see that Lee has. No reason to think that both would have made strides...so there may still be a place for both guys in 2011.

I'm not going to take the obvious shot at your bias here, but the offense had struggled mightily in getting there last year. And Lee was never made the starter last year after that 4-0.

So, by your logic, if LSU is 4-0 after WVa, JJ should never start from that point on, no matter how many losses we have. And he also should not even see the field until we are in danger of losing a game.
