4 games where he "didn't play too bad?"

versus 3-0 with 3 passing tds? It isn't even October yet.

we only had 4 all of last year...4.

Okay, JJ played piss poor last season. But, I still wouldn't throw out the idea of him playing this season. Lee at some point this year will struggle and I'm not going to shy away from the idea of JJ coming in and playing well.

Input JJ in red zone and let the defense have to worry about a pass or sneak.

What threat is that?

I don't think anyone thought JLee would play as well as he had.

And it's because he is given throws he should be able to make.

nor am I. If he is cleared, he should be allowed to return and be used situationally as needed.

How is it obvious?

1) The coaching history of Gary Crowton, especially the production of QBs after his departure.

2) The difference in offensive style, situational playcalling, and offensive effectiveness after his tenure at LSU.

3) Blatant incompetence time and time again in situational playcalling.

Our QBs aren't world beaters. They probably were never going to be All-Sec much less All-American, but they were never consistently put in a position to succeed.

Much more talented QBs have looked like garbage under Crowton and flourished as soon as he left.

The Doc's post was a statement you arose you own question and anwered it. No one asked you what you answered. Jesus.
You just can't fight the urge to be ignorant.

Okay. Class is in session.

This is TheDoc's post:
quote:

Why bench someone who has led the team to three wins?

Especially someone that didn't put himself in the same position as JJ.

If miles seriously benches lee for no reason than his pet player isn't going to jail, he'll lose a majority of the fanbase.
TheDoc implicitly, if not explicitly, asks why would Miles bench Lee in favor of Jefferson. His first sentence is general. His third sentence supplies the specifics. This is not complex. This is basic grammar.

That's the question. My answer:
quote:

The reason he'd start Jefferson is because he and his staff believe that Jefferson gives LSU a better chance to win. That's the only reason. The same reason why Jefferson started last year.
Can you see it now?

Can you see that TheDoc asked why would Miles start Jefferson instead of Lee?

What if JLee has a case of the 2009 illness. You'd still complain if JJ comes in.

Also, many of you nee dot let the 2010 campaign go and move the frick on. We're in week 4 of this season and people are still bringing up last year.

I'll give you one hint. It wasn't the QBs.

first you say:

quote:

What if JLee has a case of the 2009 illness.

Then, the very next sentence you say:

quote:

many of you nee dot let the 2010 campaign go and move the frick on.

So, I'll let 2010 go, if you let 2009 go? And it was 2008 where Lee played alot. Or are you suggesting that the past only be used to denigrate Lee and show flaws?

I put a good amount of the blame on Crowton.

Well, since Gary left, we've had a grand total of one delay of game ....and that was on special teams.

where do you sit with this decision?
In the stands, where I belong.
If the coaches think JJ can hit the same routes and add a dimension to the run game, I can only watch it all unfold like the rest of you.

After all, he was the "clear" starter before Shadygate.
Possible that's changed now, but it's not in our hands.

Some here are so invested in the starting QB position they don't want JJ back on the team, regardless if innocent.
Pretty sad, imo.

JLee's play is not the reason that we are 3-0 at the moment. He's played well (especially against state) but I'm not ready to grant him the status a starter for the entire season and just cast Jefferson as the clipboard holder.

With that being said, If JLee plays well against Florida in the next few weeks. I'll be pretty impressed with him.

No...in fact I've suggested the opposite for months and it's been ignored by those who have wanted to permanently hang the past two seasons around JJ's neck, despite the change in QB coach/OC and all word from the staff and players that JJ had stepped up and was looking great.

Essentially, those with an axe to grind in regards to Jefferson simply would not hear it. I took a wait and see approach, but was hoping for good things. Given that Lee has looked better than he ever has, I think it's probably a strong indicator that JJ probably made strides as well.

That is, unless Lee was the only QB to benefit from Krags and Co...

To answer the op, I will be very pleased.

Shepard and Jefferson elevate this team to heights that can not be reached with their backups.

Greg Shaw played well, but I want Faulk to take his position back.

I will be very hap py when Miles "installs" Jefferson, Shepard, and Faulk back into the starting lineup and LSU takes field with their best chance of winning.

yet you just did by claiming Lee will have some terrible play in the near future based off of a previous season. You actually just did what you claim you don't do.

Given that Lee has looked good, only means Lee has played well. It does not translate into anyone else's play who hasn;t even practiced for over a month...please.
