The easy answer is Cannon's run, because it's the right answer.

well the OP says "saw live" and I wasn't born yet, so I can't use that one.

Cedric Donaldson Pick 6 vs UF ‘97

This is mine and it isn't close. The amount of frustration and anger that was released in that stadium on that play is indescribable to people that weren't there.

So many to choose from. Been to well over 150 LSU games in my life.

With that, I'll go with my first game. Nov 3, 1984. I was 8 years old.

Jeffery Dale had a pick 6 that sealed a 32-29 win over Ole Miss. This was back when OM was still our biggest rival.

Honorable mentions:

97 Cedric Donaldson vs UF
03 Skyler Green vs GA
07 Byrd vs Auburn or Hester vs UF

In terms of a single play excitement, Flynn to Byrd has to be up there:

If it's live - Herb Tyler's 40 yard TD run early in the 97 Florida game was pretty epic!

Picked my dad up like a rag doll and he’s not a small man. Also, when dj Shockley came in the game, the tiger fans turned it up about 10 notches and that’s saying a lot from what the noise was before Greene came out.

I'm not sure which one but probably a Honey Badger play. Punt returns vs UGA in the Championship game.

Skyler Green UGA was as electric as I ever remember too.

Easy for people to forget how good UF was that decade and how average LSU had been...I was a little kid and can still remember that game vividly, especially Herb Tyler on the option.

I have been there for many exciting plays over the years, some registering on the Richter scale and some leading directly to national championships. But as far as pure excitement for one play, it would be hard to top the first one I witnessed:

Bert Jones to Brad Davis
Ole Miss 1972.

I know it's a bit of recency bias but Burrow dropping a dime to Chase for the first score vs. Clemson was huge. Clemson's gameplan up until then was working and a little worrisome but that play settled everything down.

I think I remember Herbstreit after the game saying that's when you knew Clemson might be in trouble...their best guy on our best guy and really not having a chance in hell of defending that play

It's hard to beat "Bring Back the Magic" Troy Twillie pick.

However, my candidate is not a play. It's this:

It is the most high energy event I've ever been a part of.

I was there for 4th and 17 against Texas. Very exciting and also kind of a “holy shite” moment. The first time the offense we’d be begging for forever showed up.

So many to choose from.

One that, sadly, will be forgotten because of the play after was Daniels TD pass to Jenkins with 0.00 vs. FSU in 2022. That was the cap to what, IMO, was the single most impressive drive in LSU football history. 99 yards in 1:20 with only 1 TO.

Considering LSU went into the final game of the reg season #5 in the CFP polls, it's not unreasonable to think that a win vs. FSU could have led to a CFP appearance (though I don't know if LSU beats UGA)

Garland Jeán Baptiste in the background. These young kids today don’t know that great name.

Hester trucking that Florida defender on the game winning drive in ‘07. That run did something to me.
