I would think if you building a New Park you would make it a little larger. Maybe they do not have too many to attend the games. I remember seeing UCLA's Park.

Don't think anyone from lsu can talk about UW's baseball stadium. The setting alone makes it at least equal to the box. LSU's equipment storage yard behind the outfield wall doesn't quite match what UW has.

There are only 30 teams (out of almost 300) that average more than 2200 fans. UW isn't one of them. College baseball isn't a big deal at most schools.

They must use some extra strong shatter proof "glass" for those huge windows.

It looks like one of the designers on HGTV was commissioned to incorporate a seaside condo into the stadium.

I see a lot of unused advertising space!

Renderings of the new park look very impressive. Pretty small but that is the norm for northern climates. Many (not all) northern school's parks (even in major conferences) resemble high school parks.

Last night they had Paul Manieri on WWL radio for a bit. He said that the AD from Washington approached him after the 2009 CWS and asked him what he thought it would take to build a championship baseball program at UW.

They are taking their baseball very seriously, and this new stadium proves it. Good for them, probably tough to do in that climate considering how early Baseball season starts.

Agreed. That will be a fantastic venue.

One con: 2K+ seating? That's where LSU and Alex Box reign supreme over everyone else.

You can take a boat to Tiger Stadium, but it better be a tugboat. And tying up is a bitch!

Ha-ha. A category 1 would make it look like a Livingston parish recycling facility.

my god that's beautiful. As far as the surrounding area goes, that kicks The Box's arse.

There's not many places that can top Washington State or having Mount Rainier in the background. I don't have any scientific data but Mount Rainier has to be one of the most massive mountains in the world going from sea level at Puget Sound to 14,411 feet as fast as it does.

Mt Ranier. Nice chance view of a volcano. Seattle is screwed when that thing blows.
