OP, I think it was the expectations that we had for JD5 to make that next step and get the ball out fast to the playmakers. The expectation to see Perkins blazing all over the field. We expected the secondary to be the weak link but we were expecting these other improvements to hold the ship on coarse.
It was blatantly obvious that JD5 hasn't improved as a pocket passer able to the ball out fast, Perkins rarely moved more than 5 yds as he spied the QB, and the FSU WR had their way. Granted that might be the best WR group we see, they are huge and quick.
So to expect LSU fans not to complain and fret is being naive. It's perfectly normal to complain about what was obvious on the field. Now to over react and say this team sux and LSU won't win more than 5 games, well that would be a nega-tiger. Just my 2 cents

Pretty much.

I'll give you that. The drops were good throws, though.

I'd like anyone that posts this to point out where anyone that supports him says he's all of the above. I think JD is a solid QB. Done.

But of course you take that and hyperbolize the shite out of it.

I think they're a little overrated.

Both should’ve been caught no doubt. The Thomas throw was late and under thrown so there’s some shared responsibility on that one. The Lacy play was all on the WR.

It’s not helpful and it’s patently false. Jayden reached his peak as a passer. He’s been given a loaded WR room and he’s still mediocre against good competition.

He’s not a bad player, he’s just mediocre.

This is patently false. He had the 5th best passing season ever (2,913 yds) for an LSU QB last year.

He will finish prob this year with the 2nd most yards ever in a season (>3300) for an LSU QB so nothing about that is mediocre.

Not really saying much considering how bad our QB play has been outside of Burrow and a year of Mettenberger. Not to mention all the years our passing offense was stunted.

Better than Burrow in 2018, Max Johnson in 2021, Mettenberger in 2012

It absolutely prove that he’s not mediocre. He’s one of the best that’s ever been at LSU.

He’s mediocre compared to Burrow in 2019 or Caleb Williams or Drake Maye, but that’s an unrealistic expectation. He’s far better than “mediocre” for LSU’s standard QB

I think everyone would say Burrow and the offense were fairly mediocre in 2018.

This speaks for itself

Mettenberger in 2012

Les ball offense that could have been much more.

Rememberlast year thinking why isn't Perkins on the field more at the start of the season?
I have that feeling for several positions and we playing transfers that are less talented. Because of fun statements about buying in, getting them ready to play in the NFL instead of dominating right now. Harold Perkins in the 1st game who made the decision to make him useless? Do we watch the same games?
Why can't our wide recievers catch? Do they practice?

We had a badass special teams coach that was fires so Kelly could bring on a dumbass that's useless and boy has that cost us.
Why can't we play special teams?
Why can't we try to hire that guy back?

The frustration stems from the missed opportunities in the first half and being out coached (FSU adjustments > LSU adjustments)

You’re forgetting that you’re comparing a player in a 13-15 game schedule to players in an 11-12 game schedule. The volume of stats is skewed, just look at the amount of plays by comparison.

It’s not that we lost, it’s that we did not look good and were physically pushed around. Moral victories are for scrubs. JD looked the same, our WR’s dropped passes, our secondary got torched, and we had no pash rush. Those things are all very alarming. Then your QB1 comes out and says they thought it would be easier LOL. WTF? Hopefully we turn it around this weekend.

You can keep arguing these little details if you want, but Mett actually threw the ball 352 times in 2012 compared to only 296 in his better year in 2013.

Some people need to create the racist narrative to justify not accomplishing dog shite in their own lives. Playing victim is always easier than accepting accountability.

uh, we gave up 31 unanswered points in the second half. Got destroyed after an entire spring and summer to prepare.

You might be able to accept that with you P&G goggles, but not me.

I’m looking at pass attempts & it’s not that skewed.

JD played in 14 games last year, some not 100% healthy.

The other years I mentioned:
2018 Burrow, 13 games
2021 Max, 12 games
2012 Mettenberger, 13 games

The fact is that Daniels is far better than mediocre compared to what we’ve historically had at LSU. You guys just want 2019 Burrow every year which is unrealistic
