I’m so surprised someone like you would make a hyperbolic comment about my post then contradict the statement with your very next post. Shocked I tell you.

10 wins without hardware would be a failure.

10 wins with Hardware buys him more time.

9 wins, has to be hot seat, maybe even fired at the end of the season. He gets 9 wins this seasons - that's pretty much his ceiling barring any good luck.

11-12 wins, would finally show improvement.

I don't know how 10 wins gets hardware in this division.

I guess that would require Bama to lose twice in the regular season, and we lose to an OOC opponent.

10 regular season wins, although 1 win away from 11, seems very very far from 11 wins, IMO. It’s a senior lead team with a senior QB and you’re only improving by 1 win from 2018.

Plus it’s our best shot.

If we don’t get there this year we sure as hell aren’t getting there in 2020 which means 2021 before we can even hope for another shot??

frick that.

If Alleva had said the guy I’m about to introduce might maybe potentially get to 11-1 and challenge for an SEC title and CFP spot in five years but honestly probably not because we go to Tuscaloosa that year so more likely 2022 he would have been dragged off the stage and thrown into a mosh pit filled with Duke Lacrosse players (that should have happened anyway).

This is the year. If we can’t get to 11-1 with a Meyer QB and Aranda this program will never do it under O.

Pretty much. If O doesn’t win the West and SEC this season, he never will.

Absolutely our best shot. If he can’t get 11-1 this year then I don’t believe it ever happens with Orgeron. He will 8-4 and 9-3 us to death. Maybe jump up and get a 10-2 every now and then.

This is the year to make some noise.

12-0 Is the regular season ceiling, obviously.

11-1 is expected

10-2 is a disappointment

9-3 is the hot seat

a 4 loss team will warrant a change in the very near future.

2019 is our best shot since 2011 to win it all.

This is the season to get it done. I like the guy, I support him, he has faults like every coach but this is his season to get it done. If he doesn't with this squad, he never will.

I'm saying 10-2. Regular season games.

There's just something about O playing down to teams which makes me a little uneasy. And it's not just him, a lot of teams do it. It's like there's always a team we shouldn't struggle with, yet we do. It's happened every season since he's been here.

If he loses more than 2 regular season games, I think you'll start to hear grumblings. Especially if it's to a lesser team. That Utah State game makes me wonder, getting back to the playing down to teams. Not necessarily concerned, but it's not like they're a pushover. The Texas game also. It's good that we get them early.

If he finishes 10-2, that might silence some the critics. If he finishes 9-3, people will get really mad. 8-4 and he's done. I don't see that happening but it is a distant possibility.

On the flip side, he beats Texas, which I expect, does well in SEC games, and if he beats Bama...... I don't think he'll have many critics at that point. Provided he keeps doing what he has been doing. We'll find out in 69 days.

That’s not the threshold. It’s a good start but beating a Big 12 team won’t mean shite if he loses to Bama, Florida and A&M.

Texas, Southern California, Michigan, ND, Michigan State, Nebraska, ASU, Syracuse, PSU, tOSU,

ARE BIG

Based on what? Got a link to that? Seems to me that O is getting the recruiting classes who can compete with anyone.

There are no standards.. the completly ridiculous nonsense from some on this board regarding record and accomplishments in a vacuum is not helpful.

The LSU roster was a dumpster fire and required a significant rebuild when Orgeron took over. Unfortunately we are still behind Bama on the line of,scrimmage. Especially offensive line.

The current D line recruiting class is great... but freshman do not generally help much on the DLine. Bama competition for the last two, good ones is a consistent troubling theme. I hope LSU continues to go,after national D line recruits and shuts these guys out.

Any way 11 and 1 and or 10 and 2 are only realistic if the Oline has improved to at least SEC average. LSU has 5 or six tough games and almost certainly will lose in Tuscaloosa. So 10 and 2 is more likely

I think if the Tigers can duplicate last year and get to 11 wins again, that’d be great.

If one as an LSU fan had gotten tired of going 10-2 with nothing tangible to show for it under Miles, than 10-2 in Orgeron's third full year and nearly 4th full year as leader of the team should also not be enough.

11 regular season wins and a real opportunity to play in the CFP...though that is not up to Orgeron and more to do with how the season plays out across college football. Anything less and one has to start making excuses for why this is ok under the new regime.

If Ed Orgeron doesn't win a championship this year he won't win one here.

Year three is put up or shut up time with a program like LSU

Interesting. I guess you ignore the dumpster fire that was the 2018 class. LSU had the #4 ranked recruiting class in the SEC last year. This year is looking to be more of the same, if not worse. Bama is also out-recruiting LSU on the offensive and defensive lines at a roaring clip.

I just don't see us losing to either of these teams at home especially since we owe them both arse beatings. Will be extremely motivated for both of these games.
