11-1 is very realistic for this team and this season. Bama being the only game we will not have the clear talent advantage in, and I believe we are neck and neck with them in talent this season. The biggest impact and reason for optimism is burrow and our returning starters across the board on both sides of the ball. We could go undefeated, it is possible for this team to run the table. If we do lose 1, it will be to Bama. Any other losses are inexcusable.

Fiction, actually.

The fact that I think he'll ultimately fail and would prefer we had hired someone else or would make the change at any point has no bearing at all on whether or not I HOPE he fails. This has been explained to you over and over, so it's not that you don't understand. You're being willfully ignorant.

The fact that I don't THINK I'll win the Powerball and am open about that DOES NOT mean I hope I don't. It's no more difficult a concept than that...

Essentially what you and others are arguing in favor of here is that those of us who have disliked the Orgeron hire and era are more invested in being right about this topic than we are interested in seeing LSU football succeed. Thing is...I've been an LSU fan for decades, so while I enjoy arguing this topic, the idea that I'd root for LSU to fail to be right is fricking absurd. I'd gladly eat all kinds of e-shite and have Ed Orgeron become the next Bear Saban Lombardi than I would have him fail, LSU stagnate and get to tell anonymous jackholes on this board "told you so!!" Honestly...this accusation kind of feels more telling about the accuser than the accused, to whom e-cred may actually matter.

Of ALL the talking points around this topic, this one should have died long ago. It's makes the accuser sound like a god damned idiot any time it's suggested.

I'd rather make the CFP the Bama way by losing one game and not playing for a conference championship.

Why is it so important to you that people admit that they want the coach gone? It's irrelevant and sidetracks the conversation every thread.

No one here has the power to get rid of him so it means nothing. If he wins the division or makes the playoffs all of his critics will have nothing to say. It's all under his control.

Why would they waste time posting such garbage about the coach you say you root for????? Look I really didn’t like the hire, but I’m gonna say what I can to support him as much as I can...... when he screws up I’ll be the first one to call him out on it... however he is the HC of the school I root for and I don’t see why people take the time to constantly talk bad about the guy.....

Well first off, most people root for a TEAM not a coach.

There's a difference between rooting for the coach and rooting for the program. They usually coincide but not always.

Screwing up is different things to different people.

Just in this thread Pirate King said that 4 losses should only put him on the hot seat. I think 4 losses this season is grounds for termination. I think the majority of people think that, given our schedule and who we have coming back.

So everyone has to conform to Pirate King's level of support to not be seen as haters?

Correct..... if he losses 4 games with this talent he needs to be shown the door..... but if he somehow goes 11-1 and makes the playoffs the same negative posters will come in here just to find something to complain about..... sad but true....

this team should win 11. if we lose 2, it would be tolerable as long as we beat alabama. 10-2 with an alabama loss and we're still an perennial also-ran. many seasons that's great but we've been down too long.

we've got to compete for championships! this year not the next!

so it seems like we can agree that 5 losses will get O fired and 2 losses eliminates any hot seat talk

National title. That should always be the threshold.
