Sylvester should've been the first one out the door! BK9.9 has made some horrendously bad hiring mistakes. He's clearly not what LSU needs to elevate the Program to where MOST of us want it to be.

What about the numerous players he developed to be NFL ready starting their rookie season.

That is more a function of their position skills than strength and conditioning.

This shot is hilarious considering the board was littered with posts of how soft the team was and how Moffitt was the problem and the game passed him by.

The way narratives shift around this place is amazing.

Assume this was about Kelly being allowed to lick his staff.

Maybe we can use this to justify his firing with cause.

It was BK being retarded

Moffitt sucked at the end of his tenure here
everyone wanted him gone

If he was so good why didn't his buddy Saban pick him up ?

My uneducated guess is that Kelly wanted to clean house due to all the Title IX stuff. I don't know if it was his idea or the admins. The only coach that was retained was Brad Davis who's first year was Orgeron's last season and came after all the Title IX improprieties occurred.

What's interesting is that a few of the guys made there way back to LSU. Don't know if that's a Kelly thing or admin thing but there's a clear preference to hire assistants with LA ties now.

I agree and especially so w.r.t. skill positions. But athletes today also know they will be evaluated on numerous metrics which most can't neglect and don't neglect.

IMO, TM wasn't a problem then and our S&C coach isn't a problem now.

Who were the Bama players training with for the combines?

Scott Cochran. Hired off Moffitt's staff when Saban couldn't poach Moffitt. Won 5 NC'S with Cochran as his Strength Coach. Moffitt and his conditioning program was never the issue or problem.

When Tommy was our S&C coach, our players did just fine in all the NFL Combine metrics

Now this isn't true at all. Every year I watched LSU OL and DL be underwhelming in the bench press.

Having skills is part of it, having NFL ready strength and conditioning also plays a huge role.

There's more to it than that.

Moffitt had run his course at LSU. He wasn’t improving and was running the same crap that was not working anymore despite plenty of other teams passing up LSU in S&C.

Getting fired forced him to take a big look in the mirror and start adjusting to the times. He did so and is better but not great anymore.

Moffitt at LSU right now would have changed nothing.
