What's the plan at TE?

Is Kole Taylor the starter, and will he get most of the snaps? Any of the other guys going to step up? Does Bech take any snaps as TE or will he be limited to playing WR?

I feel like I haven't heard much discussion on this position group. What is everyone expecting from TE this year?

Man I love Bech as a receiver but can we really count on a 6'2 215 TE? I'm telling y'all watch out for Nick Storz. Bookmark if you like.

Taylor should be much improved as a sophomore.

Do yourself a favor and dont hold him to the same standards that came with Gilbert. He's not that guy, but he can be a solid TE for LSU until Baby Johnson arrives on Campus.

Let’s get back to the drawing board on nicknames.

Taylor will be your every down TE. Storz and the other walk-ons will spell him for blocking purposes. Bech will slide into the slot or slot TE spot. If he can give you even a little blocking, that would be very helpful.

The key for Peetz will be disguising all of this to avoid personnel tendencies.

I forgot he was a freshman last season. And we definitely won't have a Gilbert type pass catcher, but we may end up with a better blocker.

Taylor and Bech mostly with Storz hopefully able to block a little. Bech is going to have to give something as a flex TE or the position will likely be a huge disaster.

Like others have said, you have Kole Taylor as your starter.

I think we're going to see a lot of 4 and 5 receiver sets with no tight end and maybe an extra lineman in short yardage/goal line packages.

eta: Not a knock on Taylor. I stand by my opinion that he is likely Foster Moreau 2.0. A four year player that will make significant strides in his Junior and Senior years.

Agree with this as well, which is why there was news out of camp that OL were catching goal line passes.

Im thinking he will remind us a lot of Colin Jeter. Maybe 200 yds and a TD or 2 per season with some decent blocking. Maybe the new offense will help him go farther, who knows?

your confidence there is much higher than mine.

Not trying to rag on him but it was pretty clear he was only on the field last year out of pure necessity once Gilbert left.

Bech’s body needs a year to develop. They have wide receivers thicker than him right now. I agree with you on Storz.

Nick Storz could contribute.
He's 6' 5" and 260 lbs, athletic and smart.
Kole Taylor looked more like a project last year, and needs to spend time in the weight room and training table.

I think our other weapons will open him up for some big plays. To me he looks like a hard nosed player that fans will take a liking to. He will play hard and help the team.

I think the plan is exactly the same as it was a week ago!! and if we are returning to the 2019 offense!! what we have at the position will get you through the year!!

Have we just given up on Devonta Lee, or have they moved him to another position...again? I wish they could find the best place for him to contribute.

We don’t need him to be Gilbert. As long as he gives some threat over the middle, we’ll be ok
