I saw he’s still ineligible for this week. What’s the issue with his eligibility?

He isn’t eligible. You can’t just transfer from Oklahoma during the season and play the next week. It’s stupid to expect that for him or our staff. It makes no sense why he came back.

You would think he would have known that was an issue before leaving OU

As long as the rules are set in stone and not subjective rulings from Birmingham it’s all good.

Everyone is allowed 1 free transfer for immediate playing time, he used his for the transfer to Oklahoma. His argument is that he technically never played at Oklahoma so can he get his free transfer back? Ncaa gonna ncaa and screw the kids any chance they get.

There's a rule in place for kids that leave but don't play at the new school

quote:

14.5.5.2.8 Return to Original Institution Without Participation or With Minimal Participation Exception. The student transfers to a second four-year collegiate institution, does not compete at the second institution and does not engage in other countable athletically related activities in the involved sport at the second institution beyond a 14-consecutive-day period and returns to the original institution. The 14-consecutive-day period begins with the date on which the student-athlete first engages in any countable athletically related activity (see Bylaw 17.02.1). A student may use this exception even if the student has an unfulfilled residence requirement at the institution from which the student is transferring.

Here's what a "countable athletically related activity" is
quote:

17.02.1 Countable Athletically Related Activities. Countable athletically related activities include any required activity with an athletics purpose involving student-athletes and at the direction of, or supervised by, one or more of an institution's coaching staff (including strength and conditioning coaches) and must be counted within the weekly and daily limitations under Bylaws 17.1.7.1 and 17.1.7.2. Administrative activities (e.g., academic meetings, compliance meetings) shall not be considered as countable athletically related activities.

Bradford didn't practice for 14 days but he did go through summer workouts. LSU was convinced that wouldn't be counted and he would be eligible immediately. NCAA has other ideas, and LSU is fighting it

Agreed. Just ridiculous if they really thought he'd be eligible. Besides, we have three big backs with Davis-Price, Kiner, and Goodwin, plus the other guy - 27. If they can't figure out how to use our 3 big backs then the whole offensive staff needs to go.

He only had 10 touches last year, but he had our highest ypc average for an RB at 5.8 ypc and our running game is 122nd in the nation. So I think he could sniff the field right now. He also caught a go-ahead TD in The Swamp in the 4th quarter last year, so he played and contributed in our biggest W last year.

I don’t think he would make any difference at all but consider this… Arik Gilbert was allowed to transfer twice in a few months and allowed to play. The NCAA isn’t the reason he’s not on the field. So it would seem that the rules aren’t as black and white as you claim.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but wasn't his transfer technically during the season? Like, after games already started being played?

If that's the case, I can't see the NCAA allowing him to play this year. It would be like if they allowed that Ohio State linebacker to show up and play somewhere else, a couple weeks after walking off the field.

They may not require you to sit out a year between seasons, but I just don't believe they will let you hop around mid-season.

He came back because Okie gave him the boot. What allowed him to come back what that he had not completed the minimum number of practices.

One the national media guys said in his case can transfer back to his original school if he did not participate in a minimum number of practices (14 is number I recall) with the new school. I assume NCAA has to verify this. Not sure if OU has protested the transfer
