Anyone that wants to argue that 1A teams shouldn't play 1AA teams, and only play P5 conference teams need to realize that teams like Syracuse will replace McNeese on the schedule, not teams like Ohio State or Michigan.

Whenever I tell people around here that I went to syracuse, they used to ask where it was. Now that we're playing in football, everyone knows where it is

The game will hopefully not be a blowout as to keep the game interesting. The last major upset I saw syracuse win was against West Virginia in 2011. They came in to the dome ranked pretty high (want to say between 10-15) and we were unranked. Whooped them 49-23. I just looked and this was the same season LSU beat them at WVU 47-21

It's a trip to upstate NY in the early fall in a new environment in a game the Tigers should look very, very good in. It will also either be a bounce back game after a couple of tough opponents or another matchup on television that sends the Tigers headed for the playoff race.

My question to you is how are you NOT excited about this?

I'm not excited because:

Upstate New York is pretty Meh to justify a trip.
LSU looking good against Syracuse doesn't really mean anything.
This game has no impact on whether LSU makes the playoffs unless they lose and if they lose, the playoffs would be the least of their worries. There is no upside.
I'd rather have a team with more national recognition to generate more hype.

I understand why some people are excited and that's great. I even floated the idea to our tailgate crew and not one person was interested.

I can't wait to go! Staying in Buffalo, Syracuse, & Toronto. Lots of sightseeing and a way to get away for a few days.

Do we have any guesses on the time of this game? I'm hoping it is not at 6 or 7.

I wish I had scheduled an extra day to check out things up there. Flying in Friday and flying out early Sunday morning. Doesn't leave much room to do much of anything else outside of the game itself. Hoping to find some entertainment Friday night though.

I'm also staying on the Canada side on Thursday night. My flight gets into Buffalo at 11:25am on Thursday, so I have all afternoon and evening to tour Niagara Falls.

I remember watching tennessee at syracuse 1998 or so. The place was rocking- so much in fact the announcer said "the only place louder than this is baton rouge on a saturday night"

I will never forget that
