Yep. That's exactly what the quote says. GFY non-alum.

Some of the dumbest people I know actually went to LSU.

See? Now I have an anecdotal argument to counter your anecdotal argument.

Some of the dumbest people I have ever met, have a degree from one 4 year University or another. LSU represents the entire State of Louisiana. Attending the University gives you no more right, nor privilege in the Fandom. IMHO.

I literally explicitly stated that was my own experience, and not at all a broad statement. Can any of the non-alum read?

I grew up in BR and am an alumni, and to me it doesn't make much of a difference. I've had family and friends that went to other colleges (sometimes more practical, sometimes more prestigious), and they each remain loyal LSU fans.

I think, once you make a connection of any sort, fandom is fandom. There's a reason you did, and that becomes a fundamental part of your identity (if you're a "fan"), and being alum isn't the only connection to be made.

I might get more memories when I tailgate and stroll through the campus than someone who never attended (they likely don't look at the buildings the same way I do), but that has nothing to do with pulling for the team.

this pissing contest is laughable, what's even more funny is that extends across more boundaries than "only alums can be fans," in the TAF there are different levels of fandom, and they are tied to how much money you give, I was one of the original members and have seen a lot, gets pretty nauseating to go to a TAF event or meeting and look at the wannabe snobs trying to out LSU fan each other by dropping names and what level they're in, etc.

Remember when Ricky Bobby tried to use "with all due respect..." as if that meant it freed him from saying something offensive? That's who you are right now.

Just because you realize you're making a shite argument doesn't mean it's not a shite argument.

Oh you so smart. They only teach about them reading books in LSU!

I didn't even have an argument. I made a statement. If you go back and read my original post you'll see that I agreed with the OP, which would mean my stance is not argumentative. You came in here and said I was making an "argument".

The blame, however, is on me for expecting a non-alum to read and comprehend.

If I call it a statement instead, will that help your feeble, LSU-educated mind understand how stupid it was?

yep, I want the TS experience, and it's not in the suites, I was in Purple or Gold, forget which, long before we had suites, for one year, it was great for parking but I ended up letting other people use my tickets for that and ended up going to the lower bowl for the games

I'm Irish - live in Ireland and have zero affiliation with LA or LSU... but I still sit up till the early morning on a Sunday morning here watching every week. Follow the local news there to follow the team and generally just love college football.

My GF knows not to stop me watchin on a Sat night from Sept to December...

It literally grew from a love of NFL and then to College ball... Then watching SEC games on TV here on a Sat night.. Slowly developed into a fan..

I've even travelled to Tiger stadium and am planning to attend next season again. At considerable cost.. So I don't care if any tard tells me I'm not a fan...

Maybe I'll enroll in an online masters to appease the Rant :)

I literally said, in my own experience, some of the worst fans that I know personally are non-alum. How are you in any position to call that stupid?

One sentence later I said that I have lots of non-alum family who were die hard and great fans, and that you don't have to be an alumni of the university to be a great fan.

I honestly have no clue what you're attempting to say. Anyway, I digress:

YOU DIDNT EVEN GO THERE

As one of those life long non alumni, I agree totally. I do have the privilege of my son getting ready to graduate from LSU with honors in a couple of weeks, so I'm happy for that.

Because it's not relevant at all. All you wanted to do was have a "look at me" moment. You wanted TD to laugh with you at trying to insult people by telling them they didn't go to LSU when they have an opinion with which you disagree.

I'm am alumni, my father is not. He's just as big, if not a bigger fan than myself. You don't need to go to LSU to cement your fandom
