He’s being paid to make the 12 team playoff every year, be in contention for the SEC title every year, and run an elite program. That’s the expectation.

10 regular season wins should be the floor. That should get you into the playoff most years, but you'll be fighting an uphill battle to win a championship playing a highly ranked team on the road.

Will be tough to make the playoffs next season since we’re losing JD and we were easily a 6 loss team without him this year. No idea what the defense is going to do but whatever it is, it’s not going to be great.
From 2025 onward I don’t think there’s an excuse to not be in the playoffs every single year.

can’t expect him to finish higher than 6 because there are 5 Hcs being paid more to finish higher than him.

Not necessarily. But what is the remedy for continuously falling below expectations? One year. Okay. Two? Hmmm. Three. If we go more than two years without being in the playoff and he keeps his job, then THAT becomes the expectation. That becomes acceptable.

This is really impressive given the last two years of O and the roster he inherited.

Gotta focus on the SEC first. Win the SEC and you’ll be in playoffs. I’d say his expectations are to win an SEC championship by year 6 at the latest (or at lease be there a couple of times).

I expect Kelly to make necessary changes to the coaching staff when it’s painfully obvious and recruit at a high level.

Good stuff. That's kind of the point, right? LSU fans have had tastes of being elite, but we haven't been consistently elite other than that 03-07 stretch.
For some reason we like to act like we have but we really haven't. Kelly is working to bring us there. When was the last time LSU fans have been satisfied over a long period of the program? Probably that aforementioned stretch - get back to those numbers and the vibes will be on point around here.
