re: What’s more frustrating for you to watch? A Les Miles offense or a Matt House defense?

What gets me is how much everyone seemed to love him last year. Maybe all we’re seeing is the effect of no dl coach and not enough good players..
I dunno what the answer is but it’s definitely frustrating when you have the best offense but not a breath of defense..,

Les Miles led offense for sure. At least the House led defense has only been terrible for one season. Les Miles' offense held the team back for years and was beyond frustrating to watch game after game after game.

A Matt House defense…bar FAR.
Les’s offenses worked like road graders against 95% of college football, they just didn’t work when the other team matched your physicality and because Les recruited so well, that made for a lot of wins.
House’s defenses work against no one. They find a way to ensure every offense we play has their best day ever. We’re literally destroying other teams cherished records by inflating their 2023 stats.
Offenses playing House’s LSU’s defense are like sprinters with a downhill slope and a heavy tailwind…records set shouldn’t even count.

House, no doubt. Dude is obviously on the take. Literally losing on purpose. My Asperger's won't allow me to process it any other way. He can't be that stupid.

Les Miles for sure bc they actually had talent unlike the defense we have now which is void of it

Defense doesn't win championships anymore.
You need a top 10-ish offense PLUS a defense that can hold teams to less than 25 ppg.
The 10 best offenses in the country will consistently score 25-40ppg on the top 10 defenses in the country. If you can't do that yourself you will lose critical games often enough to miss our on titles.
With that said, I would rather lose a game 49-55 than 13-16. At least I got to watch something exciting for 3-4 hours. Defensive punt fests every game are incredibly boring, whereas having to watch every play of the game due to explosive plays on both sides keeps you engaged, excited, and angry/terrified. It's like a roller coaster.

Let's compare 2023 and 2011...
2023, 45.2 ppg scored. 28.2 ppg allowed.
2011, 35.7 ppg scored. 11.3 ppg allowed.
I'll take Les any day of the week.

As frustrating as Les' offense was at least they played hard nosed football. There was never a question of toughness.
House's defense scared, dazed and confused.

run/run/pass/punt
vs.
complete inability to tackle or adjust to an opponent’s offense
Both are infuriating and the only way to fix either one was/is to fire a coach.
But at least Les Miles’s teams could return punts and kickoffs successfully.

A Les miles offense sucked, but it was a system. It slowed a game, wore down the opponent, and helped the defense
A shitty defense is just that, shitty

That's tough but Derante Jones was a better DC at the end of his year. Blake Baker was a major loss and Andre Carter could have made a name for himself here. It's also clear Raymond was better than what we have right now. Crazy

they are equally frustrating, but if we are talking about one game then not crossing the 50 is still more frustrating to me
that was a against a team in the discussion for all-time great defenses.
this defense struggled at times against fricking Grambling.

not even close... i could rip miles balls off for what he did to Russel Sheperd

In the moment, a Matt House defense - repeatedly watching an opponent convert on 3rd and long after "stopping" them on 1st and 2nd down is just an absolute gut punch. But, I remember watching Les Miles' offense in games that I knew LSU had no chance of winning by the first 2 series' of the 3rd quarter. (2011 NC game...?) At least with the current team it feels like there's always a chance to win, even down by 2 TD's. You KNEW a CLM offense was toast down by 14.
Fake news, bro. It never rains in Tiger Stadium.

I find it funny how these comparisons are always about Les Miles' offense, but the DC's defense. Even when he was here. His offense sucked, but the DC's defense was good. If the HC gets credit/blamed for one, it should be the same for both.

use him the exact same way 3 different NFL teams used him?
