Very unfortunate for them and the team. With TJ surgery & recovery (if required) now at 14 months it will be difficult for them to be part of next season. Hope the best for both!

I know 1 day doesn't make too much of a difference but, I wouldn't mind a rain out tonight just so those guys can have those extra couple hours of rest.

Couple extra hours of rest? What good does that do us when they would have to play 18 innings the next day?

Baseball should have different medical RS rules. Those guys are likely done all next season too. Obviously for a guy like Shores it's unlikely to matter because he will be sought after by scouts anyway, but Edwards will need to come back and play a season in college and at best will lose all his draft leverage and at worse he gets hurt again and is done or isn't quite as sharp his first season back and doesn't get drafted

If there is anybody on this team who is going to play hurt it’s Dugas. If he can go he’s going to go.
But agreed, Merrifield and Nippolt are complete liabilities. A walk is best case scenario when those guys bat.
