re: What would you like to see Saturday night

I want to see a smothering defense much like the Arnsparger years, 2003, 2007 & 2011. I want to see an offense that can run the ball with authority and create mismatches in the passing game. I want to see a team that consistently dominates inferior competition and battles toe to toe with the big dogs. But what I want to see most is “Just win, baby”!

No ridiculous controversial calls by referee crew.

Simply getting a win will be just fine. Although it will absolutely happen, there will be no reason to overact (positively or negatively) after just one game.

A clinical dismantling of Clemson with minimal penalties and a +20 margin of victory

Really? Because last year everyone was certain we'd win the natty because we beat Clemson. We beat them by a TD and it made perfect sense, because Clemson and LSU both sucked. If what is coming out of fall camp is true (explosive offense) we need to beat them comfortably.

Curious others thoughts but don't want to start a new topic. How likely do you think Lane pulls starters if we're up say 28 in the 3rd quarter?
I know we want to get guys real game reps but also would be heartbreaking if a key piece gets banged up in garbage time.
This is just a hypothetical, I'm not underselling Clemson, but just wondering others opinion.
I think Tigers win by 4 scores

Without reading the thread, these are my hopes (in no particular order):
- LSU win (somewhere in the 42-14 range would suit me fine
) - Stingy defense, couple turnovers
- Offense: Capable, limit mistakes, several "boom" plays
- Special Teams: Flip the field, make field goals, no busted coverage plays
- Atmosphere: I expect pregame to be one of the all time atmospheres, my hope is for a great fly over
- Wishful thinking: A cold front that keeps the daytime/nighttime weather to hold at 75 degrees from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM with 0% rain. (I do actually expect an afternoon shower to turn the tailgate into a sauna)

To be honest with you I'm thinking LSU wins big also, if all this preseason hype comes to fruition anyway. However after the last couple of years I'm skeptical. I think we will definitely see some of the big time guys, (TreyDez, Whit Weeks, Leavitt etc) take a seat if we go up by that much.

Smashing defense and Offense scoring more than 35 points.

3 pages in and nobody has mentioned:
"no rain in TS" or a "packed house into the 4th Quarter"

I'd love to see a shame camera for people leaving in a close game in the fourth quarter. Put them up on the big screen with quotes of how can you leave right now

Toss dive
Posted on 8/31/26 at 6:50 pm to LSUholddatTiga
One thing I hope we never see again is that stupid zone read/RPO or whatever it is slow developing run play right up the gut for -2 yards. Worse than the toss dive.
