I ponder why the people around me were leaving before halftime. A group of 4 showed up to their seats about 2 min into the game, and left about 5 min before halftime.

I bet they took a shite ton of selfies then left..

In order of importance

1. A better traffic plan. People HATE that sitting in that Clusterfrick! After a great day of tailgating (and hopefully some good football), people don't want to ruin it with ridiculous traffic.

2. A better product on the field. Yes Les miles record blah blah blah. I sat through Hallman, Archer, Dinardo etc. I get it, we are spoiled now. That being said, this isn't the old LSU. We should expect a great product on the field win or lose.

3. HD TV- the couch is comfortable. Some people look at the traffic and couple it with the comfort of home. They enjoy some of the game, watch halftime, then bail. If the seating configuration were more comfortable, more people may stay. I get we are not Tennessee and their clipboard size seats, but we have some fat asses in La. Reconfigure to 100,000 and restructure the sea twists accordingly.

4. No effective way to keep the students there. It would require them signing out electronically and tying that to future entry.

I can't ever imagine me leaving early unless I shite my pants. Hell, I slipped and broke my arm (hairline fracture only) against Va Tech and stayed until the final whistle. But attendendance seems to be an issue.

I've never understood paying all that money for tickets etc. and not staying.

I understand about traffic and parking, and the long games. and when you bring the kids.

I think one of the big issues is for so many the game is an excuse to party. the game itself is not so important. so what the hell? stay as comfortable as possible.

That's stupid when you consider that the vast majority of the stadium has no choice in ticket price plus a Tradition fee.

The stadium needs many fixes.

We don't even have TVs from the past 30 years in the concession area. The paper towels in the bathrooms leave before the fans do.

I stayed until LF fumbled in the 4th. That was after fighting off a 4 year old and his mom asking to leave. To me it seemed like majority of fans left at the end of the 3 rd qtr when the game wasn't in question and LSU stopped playing football worth watching.

People don't want to pay $5 for a bottle of water or $8 for a thing of lemonade. When they get dehydrated, they leave.

If the game is "boring" or the Tigers seem to be coasting to victory, what reason do I have to NOT leave the game? I have HDTV, God food and anything I want to drink back at the tailgate. The tailgate experience trumps the in-stadium experience these days.

They need to play live football games on one of the corner screens in the south end zone any time there is a stoppage.

Was dumb that they didn't show any of Alabama/Ole Miss.

Add in a fix for better parking and somehow reduce the traffic and the amount of time it takes to get home and I think you have a winner

MJM, I agree 100%. I have heard complaints bout traffic, bathrooms, heat going on 30 yrs now. Pure & simple, it is today's fans. TS is a mere shell of what it used to be, and that sucks as in its prime, it was one of the top places to watch a college football game. Part of it is that attending a game in TS is a cocktail party for too many now, much like the Grove in Oxford, a place to be seen. Those gold seats at mid field start emptying right before half. The students nowadays have gone through at least a generation of it being a tradition to tail gate, get ripped, watch some football, and then go to nearest bar. They have grown up seeing TS from this perspective. Most students spend more time tail gating than actually watching the game, and this applies to many adults as well. Blaming it on CLM may seem valid, but I saw some putrid teams under Hallman & DiNardo & TS never looked like it does now at half time. Watching Ok & Aub last nite, both games well in hand, Ok. early, and the fans remained in the stadium till late in the 4th quarter. Drop the excuses & quit bragging. LSU fans are an embarrassment to the program.

Stop getting off the throttle after you get a lead? Play a full game and try to score the whole game? Seems easy to do.

Hookers and blow at the end of the 4th quarter. If LSU wins everyone left gets a happy ending tossed in to boot!

After the first half last night, and how empty the stadium was after halftime, this can no longer be used as an excuse.

With Miles, the first half last night goes in the "blind squirrel finding a nut" category. Most that left at halftime probably knew that Les would shite the bed in the 2nd half.

At this point nothing. Our fans are an embarrassment and it's only getting worse. It's time for the media to start blasting us for it and stop hyping up tiger stadium up as some mythical place with crazy fans. Hasn't been that way in nearly a decade now. This post was edited on 9/18 at 8:30 am

I'm seeing suggestions of "beer" and "air conditioning," but being in the club, people still leave early with both of those.

The only way to keep people in the stands would be armed guards.
