Some mid-major out there wants a payday.

Make it happen.

Tired of getting one-upped on these "season opening" games.

Yeah but when you win them it’s pretty awesome.

I would definitely support the 2nd game of the year being the big-time out of conference game instead of the 1st.

I know it's just the spring game, but their QB went 1-8 in it. Josh Pate with 247 said Norvell still doesnt have the players he needs to run the same offense he did at Memphis

Nah I like it just like it is. If you team is a Championship caliber team they realize it in spring ball and get prepared differently for the season and a team like Florida State vs say Nichols State.
2011 season was a blast starting out with Oregon and the team was ready and it showed throughout the season.

Since 2000 (last 22 yrs), LSU is 18 - 4 in home openers. The only L where LSU got physically beat on the field was @ VA Tech. I blame the losses vs. Wisc., MS St, and UCLA on stupid coaching. Our then HC (Miles and CEO) did not have the players prepared, nor did they make ANY crucial game time decisions. The Wisc game @ Lambeau was an absolute joke

2000 - W. Carolina W 58-0
2001 - Tulane W 48-17
2002 - @ #16 VA Tech L 8-26
2003 - ULM W 49-7
2004 - Oregon ST. W 22-21
2005 - @ #15 Az St W 35-31
2006 - ULL W 45-3
2007 - @ MS St W 45-0
2008 - #1 (FCS) App St W 41-13
2009 - @ Washington W 31-23
2010 - N. Carolina W 30-24 (CFA Kick-Off)
2011 - #3 Oregon W 40-27 (Cowboys Classic - AT&T Stadium)
2012 - N. Texas W 41-14
2013 - #20 TCU W 37-27 (Cowboys Classic - AT&T Stadium)
2014 - #14 Wisc W 28-24 (NRG - Texas Kickoff)
2015 - @ MS St W 21-19
2016 - Wisc L 14-16 @ Lambeau
2017 - BYU W 27-0 @ SUperdome (Texas Kickoff)
2018 - #8 MIA W 33-17 @ AT&T Advocare Classic
2019 - GA Southern W 55-3
2020 - MS St L 34-44
2021 - @ UCLA L 27-38 (Rose Bowl)

It would have been a victory if Dumbo would have started Etling.

As soon as Miles put him in against Auburn the next week, (Too late though) the Offense looked night and day better.

WTH are you talking about? 1st game of 2019 was against Georgia Southern. Texas had one game as well. I think they are talking about playing against a quality opponent that has a game in hand. Last year UCLA played Hawaii the week before.

It's not legally possible under NCAA rules.

We are only allowed 12 games a year, and they are all fully committed. You can't just choose to play extra games. There is a special deal for teams playing Hawaii (as UCLA did last year), but otherwise no pre-season games are allowed.

The only alternative is scheduling a cupcake as your first game, and a bigger team as the 2nd game (as we did with Texas), but then you miss out on the big money that ESPN and others are paying for neutral-site season openers (like this FSU game).

That was the only non conference regular season loss in Miles’ 10+ years at LSU. Wisc went on to win 11 games and played for the B1G championship.

Etling threw for 115 yds and we scored fewer points. The offense looked so night and day better he was immediately fired.
