If not for covid we would be on our third straight ncaa tournament. Advanced in both the tournaments that have occurred under Wade. Meanwhile Paul is seemingly underachieving right now. We are a lot closer than you think

LSU has had three consecutive tournament teams. It's been freakin forever since that has happened. The expectations will come if that continues

Achievements bring popularity. You think anyone would give a crap about LSU baseball like they do if we hadn't kicked so much arse in the 90s?

LSU fans will support consistent winners. I mean even gymnastics packs out the PMAC once they got consistently really good

It already is. Basketball makes tens of millions a year in profit for the AD. Baseball barely breaks even. Average TV viewership and actual attendance for LSU MBB also completely shits on LSU baseball.

When both sports are elite basketball is significantly more popular than baseball at LSU. I've been around to see it, I have no idea if you're old enough to remember when Dale had us ROLLING most years. Hell, there were a handful of years when curley/archer was here, that the fanbase was more into basketball than FOOTBALL.

Because we were the Duke of baseball, and our basketball has been mediocre at best over the last 25+ years, baseball has been more popular at LSU than basketball.

In the U.S. as a whole, the interest in college baseball isn't a pimple on the arse of college basketball. I don't understand how this is debatable.

When baseball is clearly more successful than basketball at LSU, then yes, it's more popular. Most people are front runners. I personally am not. A few years back when we had jones as coach, we had lost 14 straight games. I had to work late the night of the 15th loss. I dvred it, and finished watching about midnight.

Most LSU fans, (and all fans in general) don't follow the team when the sun ain't shining. With our prolonged success in a sport statistically (nationally) NO ONE gives a rat's arse about, and our basketball mediocrity, baseball has been more popular in BR. This is common sense.

LSU's past mediocrity in basketball is the ONLY reason it's not #2 in BR. Will Wade is in the process of changing that right now.

It’s not. It’s only that way when basketball is down and baseball is up. They are similar in quality right now and Basketball is more popular. Baseball can’t compete with basketball when things are equal, even at LSU with the fairly recent national titles.
