What was the reason for Russel Gage getting so many snaps?

Was Coach O seeing something in practice? Honestly I had never heard anything about this guy before last night.

No clue. He must have done something to earn it. Craig makes those decisions on personnel.

I wondered the same thing, but it appeared that when we lined up in what I call Trey (two WRs and a TE on the same side) Ferguson and Gage were the receivers. I didn't go back and examine it, but maybe it was a packaging thing to get more WRs involved.

Thing is, Yall dont think Drake Davis, or Dee Anderson would be more fitting to play that spot?

Watching from the stadium, it was maddening when watching when Ferguson and Gage was in the game. Runs almost every time. I'm not sure if you could see it on tv, but Mizzou was loading the box and Ferguson was being guarded man and with no one over the top all night. There was such a huge advantage there last night and they didn't give it a shot once.

(Please don't take that post me complaining. It was something I noticed that I wonder if the coaches did)

Apparently he had a good camp and has looked good in practice, but hasn't played because Miles/Cam didn't view him as being big enough. Miles did weird shite like that in the past.

Part of it could be as a reward for his special teams play. He is a beast on kick offs. I like to do a slo-mo to see who is making plays.

I'm guessing they earned it in practice. Not too sure but was happy to see others get involved.

I noticed him on running plays and blocked well downfield.

On Guice's long TD run it was Gage blocking downfield for him. I'm guessing Miles skipped the two deep practice and only let players he recognized numbers for play.

Not every WR needs to be 6-3. I like the 5-10/11 guys with quickness. Thought Dillon could be that guy. Obvious someone wanted to play gage and was overruled in the past

Hopefully they will exploit the same package against Florida. Since Florida will have game film

A whole lot of players played big minutes that never have before. Even before it was a blowout.

I'm sure that is a tactic to unite the locker room and generate team energy. I loved it.

He's fast. He was one of the deep throw misses. Maybe it's to stretch the field and keep em honest

Cam and Les were jealous Gage went to an amazing school like Redemptorist and kept him on the bench because of it.

Looks like Gage and Ferguson want to block. Jazz had a few nice blocks last night on big running plays.

Why did that post get those downvotes. I noticed the same thing. He was also in the 12 personnel packages as well

Maybe he can run routes unlike the others?
