Maravich was a phenomenon. The freshman game would sell out, then many would leave once the varsity game started.

Jackson was Steph Curry before Steph Curry.

Pete Maravich....freshman team at the cow palace....back in the day freshman couldn't play varsity basketball....the game started at 6pm followed by the varsity game....LSU was so bad back then hardly anyone stayed for the varsity game....after the freshman ended you would have thought the place was on fire...it was a mass exit put the door
Does anybody remember when the original Harlem Globetrotters played in the cow place in the 60's.....it was packed

Chris Jackson's coming out party against Fla. on the road. Even the Fla. fans were cheering him, which was unusual for that bunch.

Freshman were not allowed to play on Varsity team back then, but hard to argue with 43.6 points per game average freshman year.

Rudy Macklin had a million rebounds in his first game as an LSU Tiger. Seriously, he had like 32 I think.

Of the guys I remember watching, hands down, Chris Jackson. I would have to say Pete Maravich would probably be the best, had I personally seen him play(especially with a 3 pt. line back then).
I saw CJ play in a tournament in Lake Charles and he is the best high school player I've ever seen play. He had 6 points with 4 minutes to play in the half and ended the half with 30(ended the game with 55). The guy guarding him was an exceptional athlete in our area and he made him seem like a kid. On one play he faked left, the guy guarding Chris reached in, Chris put the ball behind his back and was up shooting a 3 before the guy could even get in his face to defend his shot. His quickness was off the charts.
