Ben had a great season, but he didn't make the team better. With a talent like him that team should have made the NCAA tourney.

Don't blame that on Ben. The players on CJ's team, his freshman year, were grateful to play on the same team as Chris. Some of Simmons teammates were jealous and did nothing positive for the team. Simmons could not overcome the selfish and stupid play even though he was unselfish to the extreme.

Chris Jackson , I may be off on points but I think he scored 55 on Ole Miss his freshman year
yep, and 53 against Fla, and 48 against La Tech (that Tech game being the 3rd game of his career).

Just for fun, watch this- it never gets old

He is the best scorer I've seen in my lifetime in the NCAA.

Mine too. Truly amazing and made it look effortless. Reminds of Steph Curry when he gets really hot.

Howard "Hi-C" Carter. Baton Rouge guy who had a tremendous freshman year. Although he did not have the huge numbers of Pistol Pete or Chris Jackson, he was a surprising solid outside shooter on the 1980 team that won SEC Tournament.
