LSU had just stopped Texas. Held them to a FG.
We would have stopped Texas. Our defense was far better than they were credited for. Every time they needed to they rose to the occasion.

That play quite honestly ends up being one of the biggest plays not only of the season but our programs history in my mind

I figured we were probably less than 40% to win if we punted.

Les Miles would run the ball, but I hope we pass and get the first down. If not, LSU is in trouble.

I was in glory. We were finally an offense with no fear of any defense. Joe slides in the pocket and hits Jefferson...the way Jefferson pushes that db off was incredible.

And at that point we saw why Clyde is a 3 down back picking up that Backer letting Joe do his slide up. Just a ridiculous play that was so so close to not happening if everything didn’t work perfectly.

i thought the momentum had swung their way and that we might lose this game because we could not stop them.

Texas had scored 24 points in 4 drives of the 2nd half before 3rd and Longhorn.

Honestly, I was catastrophizing. Flashbacks to the Clemson Peach Bowl with Les. We dominated them but let them hang around and lost, giving Dabo the springboard to his current status. Texas game gave me lots of deja vu.

Burrow and JJ erased that in 10 seconds and it hit me like a ton of bricks this team might go the way of the '09 Saints after destroying the Pats on MNF. Destiny said Hi! right at that moment, you could just feel it.

After that last 1st half score vs Bama I said to the wife we're gonna win the whole damn thing. Tigers made me a grip of dough after that; straight G on the Oklahoma game 1st half alone.

But yardage wise we didn’t dominate Texas like most of us thought we might before the game.
It was a really good game to watch even if you had no dog in the fight.

I was thinking "we could still lose this game...this is it."

That was the first sign we might have something really special..

It was one of those plays where you just stare. You don’t celebrate immediately, you just stare

I was sitting in the Longhorn Lettermen section surrounded by former UT players. I’m only 5’5” so when he made that pass I jumped up in my seat to see what happened. Every Longhorn around me immediately sat down when we caught the ball and I was left jumping up and down in the bleacher. Didn’t even care.
