I already know you'll side with Reid, but that's the explanation behind my statemtn.
Okay, so let's wait a few weeks and we'll see which one of us is right.

Dont see how that's laughable... people forget Hilliard had a sub 1 era for a pretty good while before his arm just started to tire out.

Seems like you are forgetting that Walker was our most consistent pitcher down the stretch in 2017 and a Freshman All-American. Hilliard's inconsistency began long before his arm tired out.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty confident he started 2 or 3 SEC games before his ERA went over 1

So what does Paul do if Hess, Watson, Dup stay and all the recruits come except Turang, and Kelly.

if most of the speculated guys leave or are pushed out we are still over by 3 or 4 spots

But his arm wasn't tiring until post season. His numbers in the SEC isn't anything like Walker was. Walker was a freshmen all american.

It will work out. Guys will leave due to playing time or other reasons.

Look regardless of which one it is, it's a great problem to have and both will get a shot. Walker was great as a freshman, but hes gotta come back from a tough injury. And it's very possible both are in the rotation. Neither one gets rattled, Walker hits his spots and has the greatest 87 mph 2 seam ive seen at LSU while Hilliard has an mlb curve. They're both great but if you told me only one will start on weekends next year I would put my money on Hilliard.

Eta: I'd be willing to bet he was experiencing fatigue earlier in the season but played through it. Just like Gilbert.

They won't. They never do.

Plus we'll have some guys who have issues come the fall.

It always happens. Every year.

And the best part of the whole situation is.....it AIN'T my problem. (Nor yours.) It's why Mainieri gets the big bucks.....

I'd rather him just go dominate from the bullpen rather than watch him suffer as a starter

They can continue to develop over the offseason as a starter & let him keep adjusting. If he trains as a starter he can always go to relieving if it doesn’t work, he can’t train as a RP & expect to start.

Just not comfortable with leaning on 2 guys throwing 89. We need a front line arm in the weekend rotation. Whether it’s Hess, Marceaux, Storz, whomevef

Honestly if I was Reid I wouldn’t stick around. If you aren’t wanted, what is the point? He can already say he played for LSU.

I don’t think marceaux is a power arm.

Think he’s an upper 80s guy

He must have major upside to have been offered, and declined, 1.5 Million to stay committed to LSU.

When does LSU usually finalize the roster?

Marceaux was pitching at 91-93 in the LHSAA playoffs. Throwing 3 pitches for strikes. He still is a tick up from Walker and Hilliard

I agree. Hilliard has it. You don't have to throw heat to be successful. Pre-injury Lane Mestepey is one my favorite all time LSU pitchers and is a good example of this.

They don't normally make any official announcements until the fall semester starts.
