When does LSU usually finalize the roster?
Nothing is really "final" until the spring. But we'll know who is supposed to be coming by mid July.

Hell of a day.
We’ll have some studs coming to help.

We’re going to have some huge upside guys pushing for a weekend spot. Hilliard kind of is what he is. He had a great year but there’s no guarantee he could replicate it. With his cutter and curveball he would be a great piece out of the bullpen and he could be used more than once each weekend.

Damn, I already can’t wait for baseball season. Even in this down year, I think I turned the corner and became more of an LSU baseball fan than football. Don’t get me wrong, I love both, but LSU baseball is just fricking fun to follow.

If Hess does come back I’m curious where he fits in.

Obviously we aren't all the way out of the woods yet on some guys.
But right now our roster is fricking loaded.

Probably the best two days LSU could have hoped for. The fact Cabell hasn’t been drafted yet is amazing. He reminds me a lot of Mahtook.

Unless Hess just fails miserably this Summer and Fall he will go into the Spring as a starter. His dedication to it has to be a big part of why he dropped. If he does start I hope they at last let him throw his cutter more often. At times it seems like they almost ditched it in order to work on his changeup, but it would still be useful in a starting role.

I think he has to go back to the closer role. With Walker, Hilliard, Labas, Stortz back healthy plus Marceaux (and possibly Cam
) we should be solid in the Starters role. Hess is a natural closer and with him and Peterson we’d be deadly!!

The game is not played on paper, but on the field. When is the last time we have had a really good player sit on the bench because the players ahead of him are just that good? 2017 and 2013 were the only years recently that we weren't desperately looking for a third starter, but we had bullpen problems last year. Except for this year, which we never did, we have seemed to take a good portion of the year just to find 8 solid position starters and a good dh. Tyler Moore is about the only player in recent history that I can remember that I felt should be playing because he was good and not because the player in front of him was bad.
I hope all of the players come back from there injuries and Hess and Watson experience the soph slump that we have seen before from freshman stars. But until those happen, no matter how many of the players stay or make it to campus, we have question marks at every position except for Duplantis coming back.

It's all based on their overall bonus pool. They can go over slot by however much they want as long as they have the money in their bonus pool.
For tomorrow, the fist $125k of any signing bonus from round 11-40 does not count against the pool. That number used to be $100k.
That's a big reason we aren't out of the woods on everyone yet. If there is someone out there with a relatively small number, say $500k or less, they can still be drafted and get their price. Because teams can go as high as 10% over their pool before losing a pick for the next year. Most teams exceed their pool, but not beyond 5%.

GReat day for lsu. Another piece people may not know, is that bryce jordan may not be back, last i heard he was on the fence about hanging it up

I would be sad to see him go.

Project, what do the numbers look like for next year?
Let's assume Busch and Kelly are the only two who go to the MLB. I'm assuming we would have to do some serious number crunching wouldn't we?

If all three drafted so far sign, we're at 46/35.
That's not taking into account rumored attrition, guys expected to sign if they get drafted, etc.
It's literally just everyone with eligibility minus those that have been drafted: 46/35.

Bush has already been in school for three years and may just want to start his pro career.
Kelly just may want to start his pro career.
