Because I have always known Jalen Hurts to be a one read and run QB I’m thinking Dave Aranda is going to dial it up early and often with a lot of man on the back end. I’m sure DA’s going to give ceedee lamb some extra attention but I think in the end Jalen Hurts is going to be confused by what he sees throwing at least two picks in the game. Also I just don’t see where OU will have success in running the football...

What do y’all think?

Queen QB contain, force Jalen to throw and let the CB’s win their matchups. OU can win a few battles, LSU will win the war.

Contain Hurts in the pocket and tackle well.

I'm rather interested to see how Hurts performs without SEC officials...

Game plan is to not let Hurts get back to the line of scrimmage.

Force him to stay in and throw from the pocket. Of course, that's everyone's game plan. But more than that, LSU must TACKLE him when he tries to escape. None of this bullshite haphazardly diving at legs or simply throwing a shoulder into him. WRAP UP! I don't care if the first guy that gets there can't bring him down. Hold him up and wait for help.

Hurts has never really killed LSU through the air. It's on the ground where he's hurt them

Les faced him once and this coaching staff faced him once.

I think this game comes down to discipline. OU runs a lot of misdirection and option plays. If our DEs don’t seal the edge and we don’t play our assignments it could a long night defensively. In my opinion the D will come to play and be well prepared for there attack. We had weeks to prepare for the NFL MVP a few years back and Lamar Jackson was shut down because of assignment football.

When hurts was at bama we didn’t have the cb’s we have today. And OU doesn’t have the talent that bama did.

It will come down to if LSU can stop him from running consistently. If that happens LSU wins. Their pass game should be contained.

Contain the run part of his game and force him to throw the ball. This will reduce the game to a battle of who is more accurate passing, Hurts or Burrow and we all know who wins that match.

I wonder how much Riley talked to Rich Rod and watched Ole Miss game film against LSU. Hurts isn’t as fast as Plumlee, but Aranda better have a better plan for that scheme.

Hopefully it includes players not taking terrible angles, overreacting to fakes and movement, and playing a healthy safety that can actually pivot.

It was just terrible for Aranda to put all of that into the game plan.

When he leaves the pocket make him go left because he cannot throw accurately running to his left
