Man I love Jake Brown, but he looked rough last week when Jay let him hit against lefties..

That's awesome man! Congrats to your grandson! And to you as well for the family you helped raised.

How is one supposed to improve against LHP when they hardly get to hit against LHP?

Before last weekend Pearson had one more AB against LH in SEC play than Brown did

Did you see his first at bat on Sunday when he started against a lefty? He struck out on 3 pitches.

Have you not seen Pearson strike out on 3 pitches? I have.

Pearson has one RBI in the last 5 SEC series. It was a bunt. Brown has 13 RBIs in that same time frame.

His gf needs to dye Milam's hair again so he can get his mojo back at the plate.

As I said earlier in the thread I saw a copy from someone last weekend. Pearson had 30 AB and Brown had 29.

Left handed pitching has been hard for him to handle. We will see lefties start games against us a lot going forward.

This late in the year, the tendencies are what they are.

Sure. I’m just telling you that Jake Brown isn’t good against LHP. Just like others in this thread have.

That’s great and I 100% want Brown out there against righties. I’m just telling you one of them is substantially better against LHP than the other. So when a LHP is starting, the one that is better is also going to start. No need to freak out, whenever a RHP coming in from the bullpen Brown will be inserted.

Substantially? Pearson's total stats for SEC play are bad. So his splits can't be substantially better.

It’s been told to you. Jake Brown hits around .200 against LHP and Parson hits around .300. That’s substantial.

for the season or in conference play? what is the difference with RISP? what is it in SEC? And I've said before, i'd like to see the full splits and broken out for SEC play. I bet that the difference isn't what you think when it matters most.

For the season, Brown is .404 with RISP while Pearson is .233. One is clutch, but one is not. Brown's RISP BA is about .100 points higher than his regular BA. Pearson is .080 below his season average with RISP. Which is my original point, that 1 stat doesn't matter.

Except none of that matters if he can’t hit lefties.
