The Monday night game vs Tennessee in 05' after Katrina certainly comes to mind. So much build up and anticipation including Miles debut and finally being able to play at home. We come out on fire and take a 21-0 lead or whatever it was into halftime. Only to have Rick freaking Clausen come on and dink and dunk us all the way to OT and eventually winning the game for Tennessee. I was literally sick after that one. Of course, USC and Texas would both go undefeated that season. So even if LSU had won, or not had to have played all season without the bye before eventually running out of gas before the SEC championship, we still miss out on the NC. Between TN 05' and then the following year vs Florida, LSU could have easily made it to the BCS championship. Florida 06' was brutal. Especially after Hester being called down at the inch line and then Jamarcus fumbling the snap on the goal line. Could've/should've been a rematch for the championship game when we eventually met Ohio State for the title in New Orleans.

2012 and the 2015 games vs bama sucked the most! 2015 Fournette was having a season for the ages, we were ranked #2 I think. Just watching us hand over the heisman to Henry was brutal.

Wisconsin 2016. Went to the game in Houston and then went to Lambeau the next year. Talked a ton of shite about SEC vs Big 10. Ate a lot of crow. frick Miles

I was physically and emotionally exhausted for 3-4 days after 2012 Bama. It was my senior year and that game could've made everything right in the college football world. Hold on in that one and get by UGA, LSU would've smashed ND for a natty.
Speaking of ND, The last 2 games have been infuriating. 2014 Music City Bowl and 2017 Citrus Bowl. Both very sloppy games and LSU played poorly in both. I was at the Citrus Bowl and it was beyond maddening.

CLM shite the bed versus Bama in the dome so that is on LSU. For me, it is 06 Auburn. We got totally fricked in that game and it probably cost us a natty.

LSU-UCLA. I was convinced after beating Duke and Texas we were getting a third shot at Florida for the natty

2012 BAMA was the most heartbreaking thing I’ve ever sat through. The build up after the championship loss, game day, the towels on the seats, absolutely electric atmosphere. Paid $250 to sit on the 50 which I couldn’t afford at the time so watch Yeldon rip our hearts out. I usually drink and party after the game no matter what the outcome but that was the one game I went straight home and went to bed after

Tulane 14 LSU 0 1973, still can't believe they ended the streak.

Came to post this.

Will drop the ‘14 Bama game we lost at home in OT. That one sucked pretty bad too.

if Okla St had taken care of business vs Iowa St was in 2011. The Bama games in BR in both 2012 and 2014 were equally crushing with similar endings

I watched this a buddy's house...as soon as he crossed the goal line I literally put my dixie cup down, walked out the door and drove home without saying a word. What a nightmare.

If I had to choose one, I’d say 2013 UGA game .. That was the first time since 2007 we had an offense where I felt we could score on every drive... This game sticks with me,because it was the first time in my life I witnessed a soft and terrible LSU defense. I had no idea we were going to see a decline defensively.

Probably the Indiana regional final in '87.

1/9/12. A nightmarish evening. One of the best LSU teams of all time was denied an NC because of fractious, buffoonish, inflexible coaching. Unforgivable. I'll never forget walking back to my hotel from the Dome that night.

This was the game Scott Van Pelt attended in which he praised LSU football as the best atmosphere in sports. Tiger nation was READY that game, unfortunately only to come up short.
Take solace in the fact that if we win that game, there's a legitimate chance that 2012 ends in another national championship, BUT: Miles is not fired, the offense never changes, Joe Burrow does not transfer to LSU, and arguably the greatest college football season of all-time doesn't happen.
The Butterfly Effect is a bitch.

2012 Bama in Tiger Stadium.
It was one of the most exciting games I have seen in the stadium.....and equally the most tragic thanks to the last 45 seconds of the game.

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it 1,000 times: all roads lead to Burrow and Rome (the 2019 LSU football season). And I wouldn’t change a thing.

11/3/12.
I had 2 season tickets. I would take my brother or brother-in-law or sometimes my dad to the game. Over the course of a few years before this game, I had taken my dad to several games.
He had never been to an LSU game before he went with me. He was a blue collar guy. Never went to college. He was proud of me for having graduated from LSU. (I know it's not a big deal but it was to him). He was so impressed with Tiger Stadium and the whole gameday experience. It was like he gave me some of the credit because it was "my" school.
Well, he had never been to one of those truly unforgettable games. My dad was with me at the Alabama game and obviously it was shaping up to be one of those games. But of course it ended as a crushing defeat. It would have been easier to lose by 21 again.
Because of his health, my dad was never able to go to another game. Like everybody else, I hated losing to Alabama in the following years but it was almost personal for me because it just rubbed salt in the wound. It's silly but I could never quite get over how my dad's last game in Tiger Stadium and what could have been his one "big game" ended.
Over the following years, we would talk about the games after every game or during the game for away games that I watched on TV. Finally beating Alabama this year was a great memory for both of us.
My dad died recently but I am glad he was around long enough to see LSU finally avenge the 2012 loss to Alabama and even to win the NC. His last game in Tiger Stadium may have gone badly but at least my dad's last LSU football season was LSU's best season ever, including a National Championship and, of course, finally beating Alabama.
