Allowing the NFL to decapitate college teams by taking their juniors. Four year contracts and a degree. No degree no NFL. Too much greed, too much money.

but what would you have them do?
Use the bcs system. It worked to get the best 2 teams so why wouldn't it be good enough to get the best 4?
Bringing humans into it only allows for bias. You can't tell me a PAC 12 guy won't be biased towards a PAC 12 team and so on. I don't like the secret ballot system.

The knowledge that the "ESPNization" of CFB will eventually lead to a 16 game tournament, rendering the regular season and conference championships meaningless, and ironically will have all the same ESPN jackasses who campaigned for a large playoff waxing rhapsodic for the good old days when it was a vote.

The poll bias is what I hate most. Even though we do benefit from it at times.
Year in and year out we hear how good Notre Dame, Oklahoma, USCw, Michigan, Ohio State and Alabama are going to be.
Year in and year out those predictions are very wrong.
Alabama is the only team to actually earn that level of respect in the recent past but all of the traditional power houses benefit from it.

All the chest-pounding, first down indicating, Clark Kent shirt ripping, it's all about me crap.

I don't think a playoff will destroy the college football regular season, but I wouldn't want a 16 team playoff either.
8 teams max. SEC, ACC, PAC12, BIG 10, BIG12, and AAC champions earn automatic bids with 2 at-large bids. That scenario makes it to where you have to win your conference or be highly ranked, making the regular season and conference games matter.

Are you saying pure computer "poll"? Where would the numbers for rankings come from to input?

This is a symptom, imo. The disease is the near-complete control which certain networks exercise over college football. It was not like this even ten years ago.
Cupcake games are a close second. Actually, the absolute worst is cupcake games that are also televised. At least in the Dinardo/Saban years these games weren't on TV so you wouldn't have to sit through 7 minute timeouts to watch a 49-10 ballgame.

never cared for this arguement. Also say there were 8 spots...that would mean at least 8-12 maybe more programs would be vying for a spot in late november which would have more fan bases interested in what happens with their teams. I don't see any negatives to having a true playoff.

The sponsorship overload. Everything from The Rose Bowl presented by AT&T, to the good hands net by Allstate, and even College Gameday built by the Home Depot. It's a little much.

They don't allow trades.
Why can't we have trades like the NFL?
Seems like it would be more interesting.

no I said...

Now it is a 13 member committee deciding who goes and are allowed to hide their bias with secret ballots...why not make the ballots public?
Condoleeza may hate USC and vote them down in her poll. I know I would if I was voting...everyone would....and they will.

Not technically, but consider Rob Bolden, Jordan Allen, and Stephen Rivers. These mid-career transfers are becoming more & more common these days.

This is by far the stupidest thing I've ever read.

Targeting penalty. And anything to do with softening the game.
