How is it a taunt or insult and why would anyone even say it. Just seems pretty random thing to say or sign.

It’s a stupid rap gesture that is allowed in sports since the throat slash gesture isn’t.

I'm assuming you've never watched professional wrestling. It's what John Cena would do before launching into his finishing move.

It means that the capability of that individual being seen by someone else is minimal - basically impossible

It’s been around sports for a long time. The LSU 07 team used it as their main celebration.

What did John Cena mean by doing it then? Obviously everyone can see him. He is on TV with hundreds of viewers and people at the event.

John Cena started it. Our DBs in 2003-2007 used to gesture it all the time. Usually have to you make a play you make that gesture. Caitlin Clark made the gesture and called cold blooded. Reese did it to mock Caitlin which is something you do when you compete.

shite how many times does LSU mock Ole Miss with the land shark gesture. Or mock the Gator Chomp or when Clyde pointed Horns down. Its the same shite. So over David Portnoy and these people calling it classless. Its fricking sports get a fricking grip.

I kind of get a dB doing it after an interception as they might be implying that the qb didn't see him and thus he got an easy interception

Caitlin Clark did it after nailing a three and she gestured it against a player. Like I said previously Reese did it to Mock Caitlin's celebration which happens in competition. That is literally what everyone does in those moments.

You don’t know what the hell you are talking about. John Cena himself said the he took it from the rapper Tony Yayo.

John Cena was the first to bring it to the sporting world. If it was a rapper gesture to start then okay but since then when athletes are doing it they prolly do not know that. They prolly only recognize John Cena. But it doesn't really matter its friggin sports as long as you aren't giving gang signs who the hell cares

Here is an article that references it from a DFW station website. Note the completely different tone of the coverage of Clark using the taunt than after Clark lost and got taunted.
