East-West: just an idea from an old social studies teacher (36 years in public schools), look up the story of the lyrics of that song, The Star Spangled Banner. It reflects a great and interesting story.

Since you obviously don’t know, maybe you should return to the country you immigrated from

Why don't we play both national anthems, like the NFL and NBA?

You sound like my 7th grade students. If it’s not there for YOUR entertainment, it shouldn’t exist.

At Astros games, they don't go back into the dugout until the flag is off of the field (when military members bring it out)

My father fought in World War 2, my daughter served in Afghanistan and Iraq, and my son-in-law paid the ultimate price when he was killed in Afghanistan so that you could have the freedom to ask such a stupid question!! I also have the freedom to tell you to go fuuk yourself!!

It stands for the men who died to create this free nation and those who died to keep us free. Sorry that’s boring and stupid for you.

Just watch any Vet who has served this country in a war zone when this song is played.. They know too well what this song stands for. Perhaps you can give us an example of what song turns you on.

If it needs to be explained to you, you will never get it. Unbelievable.

Not to me. Every time I hear it, seeing the flag wave, remembering all the people who’ve fought on foriegn shores…. If you ever served it means more than just a boring old song.

There was a college player who always made sure everyone on both teams took their hand off heart and returned to the dugout before him. People noticed. One day a player from the other team tried to do the same thing to the originator and it was posted on social. It became a thing.
I still don't understand. Like - do they all just stand out there until one team eventually goes into the dugout?
