What is the realistic goal vs UGa? Win 1 game or win series?

LSU could use the Ben McDonald strategy. When Ben was dominant Fri night starter opponents would throw their #3 starter to all but concede Fri night. Then use their #1 starter either Sat or Sun. Your thoughts ?

Was the other thread about this very same topic not enough?

This one is more pitching strategy

I don’t know anything about Georgias pitching, does theirs drop off after their Friday night guy?

Pitching is going to be important, especially limiting walks & wild pitches but I think it’s equally important that they have patient at bats, try to move the runner & not just swing for the short fences.

I feel like Captain Obvious typing that

Same with Skenes, but we don't have that dominant near automatic winner for Friday night or a consistent offence that can get us 5-6 runs. The Skip strategy was to do what you must to win on Friday, then you have a to win one out of two to take the series. Lately, things are starting to click, so I hope we can take 2 of 3.

Win 1 at least against GA and 2 at home, FL. Then 1 at least at Hoover and LSU will be in post season. They want to put LSU in because of how well the fans travel and we are the defending NC.

Always a chance, just play clean baseball. The sloppiness has cost this team at least 5 wins easy and it’s probably more honestly..

their pitching is inconsistent, no ace, no reliable bullpen guys but they have the best offense in the country. Classic Wes Johnson team

Do or die, pitch by pitch, be better. Jay Johnson knows how to get his teams up in these must situations. Go in there and take the damn series from Georgia.

Nope, we need to earn it on the field not some stupid subjective crap like fan travel.

Getting 2 games is a must. Any other outcome and this team doesn't make the post-season (unless they run the SECT).

Maybe the best home offense in the country, but I don't know about overall. I'd love to see some hitting stats splits of their offense at home vs. on the road, playing in parks without little league right field lines.

Anything other than getting swept would be a success.
