Because one day, I will get my Dad's tickets and paying for all of the additional fees besides the actual ticket isn't worth it if you're going to get tickets at some point.

What about for the big games like Alabama or Florida?

reasons in order
1. TAF
2. THe number of drunks continue to grow. I don't understand why they have to be drunk to enjoy football
3. With almost all the games on TV- the improvements in broadcasting and flat screens- the drive to be in the crowd is not what it used to be

as great as TV is it doesn't beat the experience of being in Tiger Stadium with 90,000 of your closet friends now about to be like 100,000 and yelling your heart out for your favorite team.
How often do u really expect 100,000 to be there?

I live 1300 miles from Tiger stadium, but I still make one game a year.

Most SEC games are always close to full capacity. LSU games actually average 100 more than the capacity in the stadium. I don't see how LSU couldn't sell 8000 more tickets. LSU has a huge fan base they will fill those seats
Prediction probably around 99,000 against cupcakes and slightly over capacity against most SEC teams and way over capacity for games like aTm Florida and next year Georgia Bama ole miss and Arkansas.
Also LSU's two cupcake games NTU and Idaho still hit 92,000 in attendance meaning only hundreds of empty seats.
Tiger stadium is almost always full to capacity it won't be much different with the expansion.
One more thing aren't there usually 120,000 people on campus during LSU games. It's stupid to think tiger fans won't fill up a larger stadium when they almost fill it to capacity for even games against schools like North Texas.

I could care less about going to games now, last year I went to 2 total. When I can watch on TV with friends and not deal with the heat/humidity/idiots all day. Much more enjoyable experience but maybe it is just me getting older.

Because I just bought a 70" samsung LED TV to watch them on.

With cost of a good pair of tickets for one season, I could purchase an awesome tv/surround sound system. So thats exactly what I did.

I am afraid that is the case here, too.

This topic has been up for two days now and here are a few observations:
After seven pages of post, not one post has mentioned the product (team or coaches) as a reason for not having season tickets. I think that this speaks volumes as to the true nature of Tiger fans. They may criticize the personalities involved in the program from time to time, but they will not let that affect their support and love of the school.
Many of the post state that their reason is that they are too far away now. I had no idea that so many of TD posters are Tiger fans living out of state – I guess this is a great way for them to continue to be connected to the program.
A large number of the post had a common theme of being fed up with “cupcake” opponents and the high price for tickets to these low interest games (when you consider TAF). Hopefully, with the playoff system coming, we can drastically reduce the number of these types of games, still make it to the post-season, and win out from there. The fact that for several games this past year, you could not give your tickets away should tell us that the Season ticket holders paid way too much for them.
Lastly, the biggest reasons given aside from poor matchups, was TAF, traffic/parking, too many day games, TV timeouts taking the excitement out of the stadium, poor bathroom conditions, lack of game broadcast in the concession/bathroom areas and poor fan behavior. Hopefully the athletic department is addressing these issues.
From several of the posts, I get a strong sense that many of the current season ticket holders are at their last straw with these issues. If these problems are not corrected, we should expect to see a tidal wave of non-renewals the next time the program has a misstep.

Just easier to give tickets to people who actually want to go and enjoy game rather than myself who gets more enjoyment hanging with people at the house. My cousins and other younger people love getting the tickets and friends being their kids to a game or two a year.
I'll probably head out for a big game but I just don't care as much as I did in college and my early 20's. plus I think some it has to do with everyone I used to tailgate with has either moved away or quit going once they graduated and tailgating itself becomes a hassle.

Most home games now aren't worth going to. NE Loisiana, Mean Green, Towson State, etc. I gave up my tickets years ago, but tailgate every game and haven't missed a single one I was interested in seeing. Somebody is always trying to get rid of a couple tickets, even for the Alabama and Florida type games. And now, having the one good OOC game at neutral locations every year just makes buying season tickets that much less appealing to me.

Costs to damn much and I don't want to go to every game.

This is the first year that I've gotten on the waiting list.
Posted on 7/12/13 at 5:09 pm to Phate
Show up with cash in hand, go to every game (even the good ones), let someone else pay all the fees to TAF. I hear from so many about "having to" get on the waiting list.......for what!? So you can get that offer for the "opportunity" to pay more money for the rights to acquire season tix in the upper deck? Cool...... Nope. Much rather watch at the duck camp anyway
Sadly more and more of the real fans are being replaced by the social status fans, many of whose never even attended the school but love to be able to say they have season tix. Don't feed the machine!

Had season tickets for years and years handed down thru the family. Finally just wasn't worth it. We kept them for a long time to be around the same people each game. However, people died off, others couldn't afford all the fees and gave them up. Throw in games were an all day affair and it just wasn't worth it any longer.
If I want to go to the occasional game I can pick up a ticket thru friends or outside the stadium.
Honestly you could make every game without season tickets and still come out ahead. You pay below ticket face value for most of the games and with the few that require you to pay over face value you still come out ahead money wise.
