Pretty much the entire 2005-2006 season. That place was packed to the rafters to see Big Baby and Tyrus play.

The pmac was empty for most of that year.

The 86 Regional Games, getting goosebumps just remembering them and 81 in the Superdome against Wichita State

I was at the 86 regional games against Purdue and Memphis St. After Anthony Wilson made that put back, the entire place erupted for 15 mins as people were randomly high fiving and hugging each other. It was one of the greatest experiences ever.

I haven't been to too many awesome bball games but I thought the LSU aTm game the year after the Final Four was pretty exciting. Big Baby and Acie Law battling it out. Glen caught fire the last 8 or so minutes of that game.

You got that right..There was so much talent on those Shaq, Chris Jackson teams. I look back now and am amazed that those teams did not win a title...

I was in school there from fall 81 to summer 86 so there were some good teams and good games during that time. I remember sleeping on the PMAC ramp for a game with North Carolina during that time. Student section was loud and proud back then.

I remember getting turned away from games (most notably the U of H game with "Phi Slamma Jamma")because the student section was full.

My bad. I remember the crowd but confused the outcome of the game. It was definitely Jackson vs Glass. But you are right. LSU won the home game and lost in OT at ole miss.

Dale Brown was a mediocre coach that could recruit great talent. Sorry, but Dale had the talent to win it all. Do you know about the famous quote that was said by Bobby Knight when LSU was leading Indiana? His statement summed up what Dale Brown really was when he coached. Dale was a fantastic motivator that put LSU on the national scene.

Most of that is largely a myth. He strongest suits were indeed marketing, motivating and recruiting but to think the man couldn't coach is ludicrous. His win total is legendary and he knew his hoops. You simply don't make the dance 10 or 11 years running (which at the time was the active record) just because you can talk a good talk.

Yea. We used to say Dale could take an average team and make them great. But he could take a great team and make them average. That team he took to the final 4 in the 80's with the " freak defense " was a defense put in by an assistant coach for the Portland trailblazers. I know because that Portland coaches son was my roommate and was on a basketball trainers scholarship.

I'm waiting for the next coach at LSU to even come close to Dale's success. Apparently, it is not as easy to sustain success at LSU as some may think. Any expectations of LSU basketball you may have, is because of Dale's teams. Making great teams average was a rare event in Dale's tenure.
