I bet he knows what kind of grass is grown there though

Not so sure from his own account he doesnt even know what he is planting at LSU. He just knows that the guy that we hired to keep the grass green is doing an amazing job despite the fact that our grounds have never looked as bad.

FYI people as long as Todd is affiliated with LSU you can go on and expect every year to have::::
1. Shitty turf
2. A bunch of excuses why its horrible
3. One big cover up
4. The new guy leaving within two years
5. And on top of that ALOT OF frickING GREEN PAINT to cover up his lack of knowlege about turf
6. WE as supporting LSU fans do not deserve this. Between Todd and Ronnie we get screwed every year and you know what is sad is that they keep getting promotions not repremands but gosh damn promotions for doing nothing fricking nothing to improve the situation. That is the biggest crock of shite i have ever heard.. Our only prayer is Alleva waking up and seeing the light one day. I do not have enough fingers and toes to count the number of experience knowlegeable people that have chosen to leave LSU because of the famous Dumbass duo of Todd and Ronnie..... I am over 7 facilities only two don't have natural grass and are old as dirt and they look and play one million times better than LSU. If I was over LSU I would kick todd in his balls and turn that place around.... But until he is gone we can expect the same ole shite and shitty excuses....

) Just like your yard, the growth will come. It still needs time to mature, but traffic on a Baseball field is much different than a Football field. It will get better after April 15.

Damn ! To think , all these years and I had never drawn the association of paying your taxes and having a healthy lawn ??

Nothing will ever change until Alleva hires a Professional Turf Manager to oversee all the athletic fields. Don't know what the problem is and why the man won't pull the trigger and make this hire.

didn't LSU hire a professional from MSU to deal with turf

The new turf guy is from Miss State right?

With a number of projects at LSU its lack of foresight.

Still boggles my mind why an ag school like LSU cant maintain grass. LSU ag has come up with a variety of different grasses and used throughout the country in sporting venues. Yet they dont have anybody that knows how to properly maintain it.

No the new guy is from Penn St or Oregon. The MSU left because of Todd and Ronnie.

I have yet to hear a good thing about these guys? How does one get rid of them? Is it up to Alleva?

Or is it just dormant for new grass? In thats case South Carolina that has had much colder weather than us looks amazing with their new grass.

USC planted their grass 3 months before Alex Box, back in July. Their grass had time to take root and become healthy before the dormant season. Thus, they can overseed with Rye grass while thier grass comes out of domancy. Someone explained earlier that LSU can't do that because the Rye grass will compete with the Bermuda when it comes out of dormancy. The Bermuda needs as much help as possible for it to become fully healthy. What's so hard to understand?

As they say, "the grass is always greener on the other side", but in this case, it's just an illusion (Rye grass).

Seems like a no brainer to me. Field turf that we practiced on every day could be used as an advantage over other teams not familiar with it.

Put it in Tiger Stadium as well to maximize our speed.

Can't grow grass in the football stadium, don't know why we should be able to do it in the baseball stadium.

Watching the highlights from tonights game and is the grass just in front of homeplate and in the area between the batter's box and dugouts already dead??
This was the question. The answer that the grass isn't dead and that what you see is just sand to protect the grass underneath is correct. Relax and enjoy the games at the beautiful new Box.The place is outstanding.

You are an absolute moron. I can't even describe how ridiculous your statements are about Todd. I don't even know where to begin. Main thing for you Mr. Peanut Brain is this. You are on the outside looking in. Don't jump to conclusions. But you already did that. Geez, some of you guys are unbelievable.

I just got out of class, and I see some people were offended by me making a crack at their education, even though they did the exact same thing, I am currently attending the same university that you did, and the correct spelling is noted

the new guy, main one, came here from university of oregon, he literally started in January, and he does argue with Todd

I have nothing against Todd, but at least Oregon isn't letting things go, trust me, give him a chance

and fwiw, I don't make the decisions as to which seeds to lay or which fertilizer to use (I believe tiger stadium uses 20-0-0, fwiw) or when to use or do these things, I took this student job solely to work baseball, not to learn about turf, once again I don't make the decisions, I don't want a desk job right now, I want a physical job, my last one was at the mail copy center and it was so mind numbing and boring I left very quickly, once again I make no decisions as to what actions are taken on the turf, but I do work on them
