Sure. College basketball is squeaky clean and Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, and Michigan would never pay players. Only that scalawag Will Wade was paying players.

This silly argument is so tired. If someone gets arrested for DUI think the judge should let him off if he says but other people drive drunk?

Wade got caught, whether he was sloppy or unlucky or both is ultimately irrelevant. It was against the rules at the time. You can think it was a mistake to fire him but that too is irrelevant at this point. He’s gone, he’s not coming back. He was a good coach but not irreplaceable, there are others that can do what he did here. Hopefully LSU hires one when/if they fire McMahon.

Until then these constant temper tantrums are pointless and tiresome.

Wade wasn't fired because he "got caught." He was fired because he criticized facilities and Scott got his feelings hurt. NCAA's NOA was a convenient excuse to get rid of him.

They're well on their way to finishing 11th or worse.

In the history of LSU basketball how many coaches have made it to the NCAAT four straight seasons?

Seriously? It is widely known...not a deep dark secret...that Wade was guilty of serious {at the time} NCAA recruiting violations. J Smart was clearly at the center of one of them per the phone call recorded. Scott Woodward took the "self-reporting/selt-correcting" type action of firing his cheating arse. Woodward didn't hire the right replacement in McMahon but he correctly fired Wade.

LSU only made the NCAA Tourney 4 or more consecutive times from 1984-1993. LSU made it 3 times from 79-81. Wade never made the NCAA tourney even 3 times in a row.

1 Dale Brown. Who has long be blasted as a bad coach and under achiever both on this board and before Al Gore invented the internet

What does that have to do with Wade being not being irreplaceable?

Disingenuous. Semantics. Knuckle dragger post.

No one should ever take someone that says that seriously.

Apparently it’s not so easy to win consistently at LSU like Will Wade was.

Then don't count that year. He STILL never made the NCAA tourney 4 times in a row....2019, 2021, 2022 is not 4 times period! BTW, if I'm not mistaken, the last year he wasn't even the coach in the tourney right? He had been suspended! So he wasn't even on the bench for that one

Not semantics, not disingenuous...you want semantics, I'll give you semantics. My memory is he was not in the tourney in 2022 because his arse had been suspended. THAT is semantics!

So that makes Wade the only coach in America that could win here?

The end of the Brown start of Brady era was mired in NCAA problems. Brady had some success but was inconsistent. That alone shows it’s possible to win here. Johnson was a bad fit and Jones was just an awful hire.

Obviously the school has not prioritized MBB. We could certainly do better and Wade did show the potential but he’s still it irreplaceable

Wade coached LSU teams made 5 straight tournaments, including 4 straight NCAAT appearances.

Saying anything otherwise is absolutely disingenuous and semantics used by low IQ people to propagate an agenda that is better supported with other arguments against Wade.

The current number one theory on TD is that he’s equal to child rapists.

There should be no patience. In today of NIL and transfer all coaches should be on one year contracts. That way you can easily fire coaches and coaches can also pimp themselves out to the highest bidder.

This is factually incorrect. There was no tournament in 2020. If you want to say he would have made it if there had been one, that’s fine and I would agree.
