Honestly with the team returning and the schedule, 10-2 should be the expectation. And there is absolutely NO reason to do worse.

11-1 or 12-0 is not out of the question.

At this point having seen nothing and with no spring football and no comments from Orgeron on how dominant the defense will be...legit I only fear Bama and AtM. Win 1 of those and odds are 60/40 of ending up in Atlanta, the CFP, or both. Win both and like 85/15 making CFP.

9 probable wins
1 probable loss
2 toss ups

@ UCLA - W
McNeese - W
C. Mich - W
@ Miss St - W (revenge)
Auburn - Toss up (Aub. Rebuilding, but first big SEC test for new coaches.
@ Kentucky - W (They will play us tight at home)
Florida - W (They lost too much talent and we're at home)
@Ole Miss - Toss up (Ole Miss sneaky, rivalry game, and they're at home, road test for new coaches)
@Alabama - L
Arkansas - W (This will be one of those games. Arky is on a come-up, but we will be at home. After a road loss to Alabama we'll be hungry)
Monroe - W
Texas A&M - W (they've lost too much and we're at home)

It seems like an absurd prediction considering LSU is coming off a season where they were barely able to reach .500, but 10-2 (at worst 9-3) is a reasonable O/U line. The odd years favor LSU (03, 07, 11, 19 just to name a few) due to the fact 3 of their 4 traditionally "tough" opponents are at home in those years (Florida, A&M, Auburn). At Bama always seems daunting, but considering LSU hasn't defeated Alabama in TS since 2010, it's not like we can hang our hat on "home field advantage."

Florida, A&M and Alabama lose senior QB's. Auburn is a question mark because of the coaching change (though they haven't won in Tiger Stadium in two decades). UCLA was competitive last season, but not exactly "good".

These are all wins at full capacity. I doubt that happens though.

How strong will A&M be next season? I'm guessing 11 & 1 or 10 & 2. However, it could be 12 & 0 and 9 & 3.

The OL should be improved, with the new offensive staff and hopefully, less covid interference, there should be less dropped passes, and the QBs and the running backs should all be better.

The good news, the defense can't get any worse and I think it will be very significantly improved, especially in the secondary.

I can't wait to see what Jacqueline Roy and Maason Smith will be able to do on the DL. Along with Jacobian Guillory.

A&M will take a step back. They are losing 4 of 5 o linemen. Fisher's bread and butter is running the ball and I don't think they will be as successful as this previous year. Defense will be very good again tho

10-2 or 9-3

I don't see us dropping 4 games next year.

Just my opinion, but there is. 10 regular season wins is HUGE compared to only 9. Double digit wins is an accomplishment. 9...eh...just doesn’t have the same clout.
