Are you suggesting that LSU fans are indeed spoiled?

LSU fans are as passionate as they come.

I truly believe the energy and time to go a game on a regular basis is beyond reasonable . The traffic is stupid bad.

it's a problem LSU can improve on ,no question it just has to become a priority.

You never answered my question.

I'm spoiled on football games now... here's my criteria:

1. If i'm not sitting in (a) the Stadium Club, (b) the Suites, or (c) between the 20's on the lower level I'm probably not going.

The experience of the game that involves sitting in the end zones or upper levels doesn't compare to the comfort of sitting at home in front of my 50" HD LED, drinking beer, going to my own bathroom and saving 3 hours of traffic to get home 5 miles away.

2. Parking Pass - I need one. Minus the parking pass, I'd be fine finding a spot somewhere on campus, but now that campus closes to traffic hours before the game and includes a $40 tag my interest has waned.

Bottom line, I'm not sitting in traffic for a 2-3 hours and having to walk 2-3 miles to/from the stadium. It's just not worth my time or effort.

I've been a tiger fan all my life, grew up going to the games with my family, but it's just become a hassle to do it now that I have my own family and young kids. My weekends are full anyway, so watching the game from my living room is every bit as comfortable (really moreso) than having to travel to/from the stadium.

ETA - I'm curious how much worse this will be next year when another 8000 seats are added.

These days I would prefer to be able to get there an hour before and be able to make kickoff and then leave when the game is over and get out off campus in a reasonable amount of time. I have kids with activities and that comes first.

Once they are grown I wont care.

I give up my whole Saturday to watch the Tigers play as a season ticket holder. I pay TAF money for the rights to my tix in the SEZ, show up early and stay late. I enjoy LSU football and give LSU money to ensure I get tix for road games, the seccg, and bowl games. I was a frosh in 1992 when we went 2-9 so I cherish what we have now. I have also supported LSU basketball through the very lean Brady and TJ years. I am LSU through and through, good times or bad. I hope we have 15k strong in Oxford this weekend. Our Tigers need every inch of support they can get, and deserve it for the work they put in!!!!!!!!!!

It depends, i didnt get leave my house til 10 40 am. It was my fault but i didnt get to my tailgate til 12 30 and I live in baton rouge. It took me over an hour to park when it usually takes me six minutes to get to campus and park on a friday. They just need to figure this shite out. It was a cluster frick on saturday and the cops did nothing but make it worse.

I almost like the shittier games. They are at night and the traffic is tame. Ill just chalk it up to a shite load more people came down for UF just to tailgate. Campus was bare for the aub game. Had no trouble fir what used to be a premier home game every odd year.

Left my house 3 hours away at 5:30am Saturday morning to be on campus for 9 and have enough time to tailgate beforehand. Was way too sober at the game but I stayed the whole time and was loud as frick for most of it.

Yea it wasn't a terribly exciting game but if you are lucky enough to have a ticket to the game you freakin be there for those guys. Clearly no LSU fan has ever played a sport or they would know how important the crowd is in motivation and momentum, especially at 93,000 strong. When you have a ticket to the holy of holies that is Tiger Stadium you need to consider yourself part of the team, insomuch as that you can contribute directly to victory.

On behalf of all of us who can't always get tickets all the time and would give multiple limbs to be there as much as possible, I say

I manage to carve out the entire day for the game. The experience isn't just good football. It's meeting new people in many different ways and seeing old friends that I might not have ever expected to ever see again.

Asking me how much time I am willing to carve out of my day for an LSU game in the Valley is just a silly thing to do. I could care less if there is a one hour delay on the road before or after the game.

do they carpool in?

They need to widen some roads or put come cut ins, something creative to free up the traffic, but more importantly, find a place for people to park

I attend some UNC and NCSTATE games locally but not very often, only when invited... 65k stadiums, very easy to get in and out

I've been to see LSU play USC in SC... that was a great experience...85k

traffic was very reasonable. their tailgating is top shelf, great fan base... We kicked their butts that night!!! 03 season

I went to the Bama versus LSU game last year, We had to walk 2 miles, after sitting in traffic for 2 hours, and -we arrived 6 hours before kick off.

6 hours before kick off should not = "you're late to the party"

That was miserable, but the actual on campus game day experience was the best I have ever had. I will go on record and say, that was as good as it gets in CFB...

Would not deal with that traffic for 8 home games... No way...

I might do it to see Johnny Football

I drive over from Lake Charles, usually early, so I can get to my spot and set up.

I always stay at least one night. If it takes up most of the weekend, all the better. It's worth it, to me.

The season goes by way too fast.

I come down from Madison....if just me I can come down and back in the same day...similar to when I lived up north and would drive from mid-Maryland over to Legends in NYC...

if my wife comes along, then we spend a night in BR either before or after the game...

i go to games at BDS regularly, and will be going this saturday. i'll leave birmingham at 4pm, drive to my lot and be seated in time to watch lsu-ole miss kickoff.
this is a pretty normal routine when i go there for games.

when i went to LSU Bama last year, getting crosstown from our hotel to parking took about or 2-3 hours.

just my experience though.

Live in mandeville...for a 6pm or 7pm game we leave mandeville about 9:30 am and are at the chimes/varsity for 11am including coffe/beer/ice stops.

For a 2:30 game we leave about 7 am and are parking shortly after 8am

After the game we usually have a beer or two at chimes then are home about an hour after that.

What road are you driving on and where are you parking for it to take all these hours of traffic and walking 2 miles in from campus?

I'll tell you it's my biggest reason. Bought season tix in 98 when they built east upper as a sophomore and ga e them to my patents while I sat in student section. After graduating, went to as many as I could. Then marriage, kids and house came and between all this and rest, going fell on priority list. I sell most and still make at least 2 a year but don't want to let them go because its hard to get back. When I do have time again ill go. Until then, I've got more important shite to do. Even 10 years ago, if you told me I'd reach thAt point I would have called you an idiot.

It was much easier 30 years ago when I lived in the stadium. Hard to compare now.
