There are about a half dozen what ifs simply surrounding Edwards-Helaire plays against Bama in 19.

LSU loses to Fla St in 1979. Bobby Bowden was considered the front runner to replace Coach Mac. After he defeated LSU, he decided to stay at FSU and see what he could build there. How long does Coach Bowden stay here? What happens with Bo Rein's career?

Two huge what ifs are the 96 and 97 iron bowl. Both involved last second lead changes that cost LSU Atlanta. Is Dinardo given more rope if he wins as SEC title?

Was coming to post this. The story Bobby Bowden always told was he was back and forth on the choice. Finally he told his wife if they could come in and beat LSU in Tiger Stadium he knew he could build something at Florida State if not he would take the LSU job. Well they beat LSU 24-19 and the rest is history.

3. Spurrier instead of Archer
4. Drew Brees passes his physical in Miami
5. Cecil Collins doesn’t break his leg

What if Cannon had scored on the two point conversion.

He adamantly claimed he did score - talked to him out in west Texas hunting back in the early 80s.

What if we don’t inadvertently brush the USC QB’s facemask on a third down sack in the waning moments of the game in 1979, up by 2?

2 point conversion at Knoxville in 1959. Kept LSU from winning two consecutive national titles.

What if the 2013 offense and 2016 defense were in an overlapping year?

If Les Miles wasn't so old schooled and believed his manhood would be questioned if he couldn't run the ball up the middle every other play, he would have gotten us 2-3 more national championships.

Ryan Perrilloux doesn’t get kicked off the team and plays for us in 2007-2009.

Or if someone could’ve tackled TJ Yeldon on the screen play in 2012.

We win the title in 2012 with the Honey Badger.

What if Perrilloux doesn't get kicked off the team? Sent us into a QB tailspin.

What if LSU hired Steve Spurrier when he was available and wanted to come here?

Every story I’ve ever heard is that he wanted to come here and LSU shrugged him off, and that’s why he always wanted to skull drag us in the 90’s

But imagine that WHAT IF

You start with a mysterious plant crash in the 70s killing the first Nick Saban

It's hard to overstate the implications of these two.

Les was willing to play aggressive on offense with Crowton in '07 and '08. If Ryan was at QB in '08 with all that talent it would have been legend. IDK if we beat UF in Gainesville but we could very likely have re-matched them in ATL.

But after the pick-6 fest in '08 Les was traumatized and was unwilling to ever play that way again and it cost us.

ETA: what if Mile Miley chose to forego MLB after '73?
