Might be better than sitting in the Orleans Parish jury pool right now.

My aunt had a wide array of sports apparel and ball polish

then she moved and sold it all.

I would love to see them run through the SEC, and make the tourney and win a couple games...But that would call for them to win 5 straight games.. They didn't do that at all this season...

Bilas and andy katz would give johnny jones and the rest of the team some credit, while the rest of the talking heads would say the great ben simmons won the ncaa tournament by himself despite being held back by a horrible supporting cast and terrible coaching.

What happens when we lose our first tournament game and are at best a 5 seed in the NIT?

Sounds like you are into realism rather than the fantasy rumproast is engaging in.

I don't even care anymore. Watching this team for the past few weeks has sickened me.

It's a sports team I root for that win or lose does not affect my life except I get to root for them another time. I might as well go into it optimistic.

What if Ben Simmons turned out to be the next JaMarcus Russell?

believe they have the talent to do so, but I don't believe Jones has the coaching ability to put them a position to make such a run.
while arizona sits at 24-7

It could happen easily if Simmons played like half of the hype.
20, 11, and 5 isnt half the hype? So you were expecting more than 40,22, and 10 I would call you crazy, but that is likely a typical LSU fan expectation

And we could probably still find a way to blow it at the end.

But I'd like to see it anyway!!!

Is Johnny Jones stepping down and David Patrick stepping in as interim coach in this scenario?

With all the hype coming in, I was expecting more than his under-20 pt average; he's at 19.6 a game. That's good, but not overwhelming.

More importantly, I was expecting a warrior who'd have battled tooth-and-nail to win every time out on the court, not someone who just seemed to hang around idly while games slid away; either big games in the final minutes, or not-so-big games where things unraveled early in the second half.

I mean, sometimes you're still going to lose, and it's like watching Fournette run sideways, backwards and into a nose tackle against Alabama, but you could see he was fighting. Simmons just seems to check out.

Anyone notice the only negatives on Simmons are things that can't be measured or proven

"Sure the pts, rebounds, assists, steals, and block shots are good, but where is the "heart", "tenacity", "warrior spirit", "

Such a joke

Johnny needs to bring Dale Brown on as a consultant and it just might happen.
If LSU made it to final four there would be a 30/30 special on how Ben gamed the system

It's a pretty well-known sports axiom that "the immeasurables" are what separates great players from the rest. You can have a guy with good stats and a better body, and compare him to someone else, and that other guy just has something about him that you understand to be "better".

Couple of examples- Greg Maddux and Joe Montana. Both were just average physically, neither guy was anything remotely resembling a truly elite physical prospect. But they would both beat your arse.

Simmons is an elite physical specimen. If you set about making a basketball player in a lab, you'd end up making him. But for all his natural gifts, I haven't seen anything that tells me he has the elite mind and edge to go with it.

If you put Buddy Heild's mind in Simmons' body, you'd have a legendary player for the ages. If you put Simmons' mind in Heild's body, you might have a bench player.

We most certainly do not have the talent to win the national title.
