My theories on the trip to Omaha yesterday are as follows:
1) Seal the deal with Corbin.

2) Seal the deal with Vitello's agent in person.

3) Seal the deal with O'Connor's agent in person.

Pierce doesn't fit into this narrative being that the plane left prior to his game being played.

Super secret option that McDonnell met Woodward in Omaha to throw everyone off the trail...

With the ability of DocuSign now a days the in person part of signing contracts has almost become a thing of the past
Not necessarily, especially for contracts that are this important. Showing up to in person to guarantee no last minute shenanigans happen might be prudent.

It’s pretty simple. Hypothetically, Woodward (or LSU reps) meets with the agent in person to hash out the details, and close the deal, then leave. The contract is sent over via DocuSign, and is in Vitello’s inbox before the game is over. After a phone call with his agent where he’s filled in on the details, he e-signs via his phone in a matter of seconds in the hotel room.

Did the plane return empty? Couldn't its passenger(s) have stayed? You people are a hoot.

Well that would be one hell of a shell game seeing as the plane stopped in Baton Rouge on way back to Lafayette.

The contract had been signed in person days earlier and given to the agent. The guy on board is still coaching.

Someone flew to Omaha to pick it up from the agent.

Why would an agent be in Omaha? Agents have scores of clients.

docusign?

It’s a program that all real estate companies use to get things signed if a person can’t do it in person. Fortune 500 companies use them, colleges and high schools do as well for signing contracts.

The question is, “will anyone ask TV about LSU at the press conference?”

That's because he was distracted thinking about all the lambos he's going to buy when he signs with LSU.

Usually or sometimes that the agreement is a handshake and nothing is actually signed until later. Fwiw
