I mean, all that guy has done is rebuilt a shite program and made it a consistent winner - Top 3 in the SEC consistent. Don’t worry.

People that start shite threads are as unoriginal and just little kids. That’s you Bama fan First Cut, Auburn fan True Tiger Tail, StaugfkU and others.

First 5 years
Dale Brown = 52%
Trent Johnson = 52%
John Brady = 54%
Johnny Jones = 56%

Other notable coaches
Scott Drew = 41%
Coach K = 56%

WILL WADE = 68%

There's a weird sect of the board that resents basketball coupled with having dumb casual fans who bandwagon until a loss then the sky is falling.

It’s weird. He’s turned a dead program into a perennial tournament team in 5 years. Of course that shouldn’t be just the standard going forward, but he’s building something here and we have a segment of online retards refusing to buy in and enjoy it.

I’ve been critical of his in-game coaching in the past, but think he’s still learning and getting better and tinkering with how to build a roster. It’s all going to mesh at some point and the ceiling is really high

Its the internet. People are contrarians and go against the grain no matter the topic.

Trolls are everywhere online especially when it comes to anonymous message boards because their is no consequences for their retardedness

well thats because basketball sucks. have you seen the dudes in the stands at a basketball game? typically 300 lbs+ or nerdy as hell. Who wants to watch a whistle get blown every 20 seconds.

Now eliminate fouls and let the boys fight while trying to get a ball through a hoop and thats a sport I would watch

I don’t think it’s a matter of what he’s done. I think it’s a matter of what he’s done relative to how some on this board portray him. If there was not a big contingency of WW sycophants on this board that defended him no matter what, I think the criticism would be a little more muted. However, When you insist to everyone that a person is one of the best coaches in the country (regardless of how their team performs), there is going to be backlash when their teams look unprepared or outcoached.

He’s also super young and has a ton of time to grow as a coach. Anyone saying we should move on from him is an idiot. Great coaches don’t grow on trees.

This, not many people are calling for Wade to leave. But if you say "this team looks bad right now". Pumpers freak out and tell you "you don't know basketball like I do". Soun like morons haha.

I guess he’s not “one of us” like O and JJ???

It’s really hard to figure out the hate for this year’s team. He rebuilt the roster after losing nearly all his offensive production and has put together a really good team - that when healthy is borderline top 10 - and he’s done so with guys in the portal that were not highly sought after (except Miller who is injured). The fact that this team is 16-5 is one of the best coaching jobs in college basketball this season.

ETA. This team reminds me a lot of the 2019 Auburn team that went to the final four. Lots of injures, struggles in the middle of league play, got healthy, won the SEC tournament, made it to the final four and were one really bad call away from the title game.

So how many years does Wade get to get us to an elite program ? This is his fifth year correct ? I mean sooner or later, his teams have to be consistently in the top10 or 15. Make big runs in March. I mean are we ok with just making the Dance or are we hoping to be a Villanova or North Carolina, Kansas type program.

Wade is young but damn basketball isn't molecular physics. How much do you really have to learn ? He is a good recruiter but sooner or later, Wade needs to earn his medals.

There is some nuance to it. Why would LSU expect to be like the blue bloods you mentioned? This program has never been that. He’s more than earned the leash to build and mold this thing

get himself an OC and get out of the way. Concentrate on defense and rebounding. Maybe a tournament quality team will be revealed.

You know how I know you’re a baby? Look at the résumé’s of Coach K, Daddy Dale, people didn’t walk into UK, UCLA, KU or NC and get back to me. For all the hoopla bull shite kids like you spew, you would think there were some intelligence in the history of basketball at non “Blue Blood” schools. You guys probably don’t remember when Arkansas was a power, I bet.

I happen to see Eddie Sutton coach against Dale Brown in the Elite 8 in NOLa BEFORE UK when he was at Arky. He was an excellent coach, but didn’t “win” until UK.

It is all about perspective.

How many years did it take Scott Drew to get to the final four at Baylor? I’ll save you the google search - took him 18 years to win a conference title and make a final four.

Wade won conference title in year 2

The program Drew inherited at Baylor was about the same as what Wade inherited.

And making the tournament every year is something LSU hasn’t done since the late 80’s and early 90’s. So, yes when you’re rebuilding a program, that’s where you start.

On a side note, are you recommending that we fire a coach that is making the tournament every year. If so, you are an idiot.

This is an absolute fact. These dumbasses would have LOST THEIR shite watching David Robinson and Navy beat LSU early in the tourney when LSU was LOADED.

And how of ANY OF THIS WADE’S fault or the ABSOLUTE LACK OF BASKETBALL HISTORICAL KNOWLEDGE or basketball intelligence? That’s just a fricking excuse for little shite kids. It has NOTHING to do with Wade. It is O and JJ dumbass supporters that A. Didn’t want him hired in the first place. B. Didn’t want e program to out perform the football program. While Wade has not won a Natty, he did what O did and NO LSU BASKETBALL COACH IN THE HISTORY OF THE PROGRAM EVER DID in completely rebuilding the program and win the SEC in year 2 and sustain a high level program is take them to multiple tournaments in a ROW. fricking kids.
