I know this is out of left field.

He had 3,195 yards and 23 TDs in 40 games his first 3 years in the league. I know he messed up his knee late in 2005, but was it so bad he couldn't play again?

That's it then? That sucks man. He was one of my all time favorite Tigers back then. He ran with extreme purpose, and was looking good in the NFL.

i think it ended up being a degenerative issue and not something he could simply repair

I think that the Texans used him in a role that used him up rather quickly. I'll never forget him returning kicks. Or was it punts. Whatever it was he's a great tiger.

He’s the sole reason we beat Illinois in sugar bowl

He retired after the knee injuries. Owns multiple businesses in Breaux Bridge and is doing well for himself. Was smart with his money after the league. I used to talk to him at the Gold's Gym in Breaux Bridge from time to time when I used to work out there.

Felt like he returned punts at lsu for 10 years. Sure wish it was really 10 years. He is in my top 3 punt returners at LSU of all time.

He had a good game, but Rohan threw for like 450 yards and 3TDs,Reed had a 200 yard day, and Clayton had more than 100 too. It was a team effort.

I think we were playing Mississippi State and they kicked a long line drive punt. He was running back to get it and I turned to my buddy and said, "they screwed up." He made that punt return TD look easy.

He had a great LSU career that seemed like it could have been even better if he wasn't splitting time with other very good RBs.

Dalton Hilliard made me a huge Saints fan and Domanick Davis nearly did the same for me with the Texans. I lived in Houston at the time and Davis was a great fit for the young Texans franchise. They ran a zone blocking scheme and he was able to utilize his shiftiness plus power. After he got hurt, I still watched Texans games but never felt invested in them anymore.

Either right before or after he got hurt, I remember seeing him at a Rockets game (concourse area) and yelled 'Double D!!' and he gave me a smile. I usually wouldn't do something like that in public, it was probably the beers.

I mean, I’m a huge DD fan, but he wasn’t a short yardage guy at all really.

He was a great pass catcher, explosive playmaker, and return man

Toefield was the thunder of that backfield (although he could also break off big gains as well, especially pre injury)

I still think he was robbed on that return that was called back against V Tech in 02
