I'm ready for the hillbillies to come back with their threads.
They were good fun, and knowledgable. I like WVU fans. I wish Duck fans cared about football too enough to
flock. No game scares me, or this team. This team is going to scare the ones they play, minus bama. The NC will be won or lost in BDS

It has to be Alabama at Tuscaloosa...loads of talent on that team

I wouldn't say I am scared. I am never scared and enjoy the competition. I would say I am nervous or less sure of a victory in some games. bama is always a worry because I absolutely despise that school and always want to beat them. I am nervous about Ole Myth because it is so embarrassing to lose to that junior college caliber school.

the most fun my group of friends have ever had for a football trip (including bowls) was the LSU trip last September...New Orleans that weekend, Baton Rouge all day saturday...we had a blast...cant wait to meet some more Tiger fans up here...

actually it looks like we get northwestern state in between the two games. which is fine by me. MSU the thursday after the opener would definitely have been a trap game

I don't know why that many people are so scared of Oregon. Look what happened when they faced a real defense. Yeah they are fast, but we're bigger and just as fast. Auburn's defense which wasn't even that good last year held them to only 19 points. And I love how everyone forgets how well the LSU staff does when they get time to plan for a game. They will have the entire spring summer and fall. And honestly, I hope it helps because the spread kicked our arse last year.

I'm with Brett on this one. LSU is going to come out with both barrels blazing. This will be a statement game a la VA Tech in 2007. Krags and Les will want to kick it into overdrive to put the fear of God into everyone else on the schedule. Plus, Oregon is losing a TON of talent along the lines, which is where LSU will have a DECIDED advantage.

I think our OL may be the best in the league next year. Bigger, experienced, meaner.... 3 yards and a cloud of dust will be more like 5 yards a pop next year.

WVU fan here.
an LSU fan just dropped by our board, so I thought I would mosey back over here . . .hadnt been here since before our game last year.
btw, I had a fantastic time in NOLA and BR last fall, it was (other than the loss) every bit as fun as I hoped.
You guys have an absolutely brutal schedule next year. Plus losing robo-corner doesnt help. How many games do you think you won just because of PP last year?
OOC against Oregon. OOC against us in Motown . . .the week after having to play MSU? wow.
I am sure you guys have seen that we brought in Dana Holgorsen as HCIW/OC. He was the OC at Okie State last year and has had top 5 offenses everywhere he has been over the last few years. OSU finished with the #3 total offense last year and that was the first year DH was at OSU. So you will see a much better and different offense.
You will see the same defense, which finished as the #2 defense last year. We did lose some players though, namely our NT Neild and DT BErry, S Sands, and CB HOgan, among others.
So people seem to think Zach Mettenberger will be your starter? thoughts?
As I said, if you guys go undefeated next year it will be beyond impressive given the always tough SEC and your OOC schedule.
Us on the other hand . . . should we be so fortunate to pull out a victory against you guys the sky is hte limit.

SEC Championship game

they barely lost to a team that won the SEC and NC last year
Plus the NC game is a different beast. With all of the television timeouts there are built in game stoppages that help a team trying to slow down Oregon's hurry up

I don't think there's a single team we can't beat. The only team I have a little concern for is Tennessee. They will not forget how the last meeting ended....players can hold grudges for a long time.

we are not the sooners, or "CHOKLAHOMA", where all we have to worry about is one game

The timeouts gave Auburn's defense a chance to recover. Lesson learned we hope. The slick turf hurt us more than Auburn also as we depended more on speed and getting to the corners with the option. However, I have to admit, Fairley was good.
The LSU game seems to scare Duck fans the most for next season. Stanford is a close second.
While it appears we have a lot of holes to fill, most of the new starters have already started a game or more and have a lot of game experience. Kelly used 25 players on defense last year, rotating constantly to keep players fresh.
Oregon is reloading not rebuilding. The real question is team chemistry. Some of the seniors were real leaders.
So, in summary, we don't know what we will have until they play. Starting out with LSU will be a real quick dose of reality. What a fun game and while I of course support the Ducks, I can't call this game, just too many unanswered questions for both teams. Best of luck after your first game.
