Fournette and it’s not even close. Stingley is retarded good, but it’s tough to compare because Fournette is a RB compared to him being a CB, so he’s obviously going to get more attention, glory, and hype. Just the way it is.

The most anticipated year and the biggest letdown was Ben Simmons

The letdown was on Johnny Jones. Simmons was a damn star that year.

Unless you wanted Simmons to take a shot when it mattered instead of passing it off, or make a jump shot.

The guy was a consensus All American who averaged 19 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, and a block per game, while shooting it 56% from the floor. Not sure what else you wanted him to do...

Well play team ball for one. He was the total anti-thesis to team ball.

People don’t like him because he doesn’t love LSU like the rest of us do. He has no connection to the school other than his godfather being an assistant coach. LSU was always going to be a one year stop gap before heading to the NBA.

The blame should be on Johnny Jones for being a terrible coach

This. I don't get the hate for Simmons. He is one of the top 5 talents to ever play basketball at LSU. JJ wasted his only year here. Simmons was a very good player at LSU and is an elite NBA player that still reps LSU. He helped recruit football players to LSU while he was here(read Drake Davis' commitment announcement) and tweets support for LSU still. The hate for him is stupid.

P.s. I know Drake Davis didn't work out but his commitment announcement is one of the best I've ever seen and showed that Ben tried helping LSU Athletics out.

Fournette was talked about for 3 years on this board and was the crown jewel of the 5/5. He might be the most anticipated football recruit in the history of LSU.

logic doesn't work on some of these guys. You can't reason with someone who says Simmons wasn't a team player. those people are simply too ignorant.

Patrick Peterson was more hyped than Stingley was.

Fournette was the most highly touted freshman I can ever remember at LSU in any sport although Ben Simmons was a pretty big deal. Too bad his coach was shitty.
