What exactly is going on with Blake Money? He was our #1 at beginning of year.

Did the wheels fall off? Get the yips? Injured? Kind of forgot about him middle of the year.

injured wrist and not the same after...I think injury was not his pitching hand though.

He will shine this weekend, that’s what will matter tomorrow or Sunday

He has not been the same since he missed a few games with his wrist.

Inflation has been hitting all Money hard.

I just remember him taking the L at Arkansas never to be heard of again.

The better question is what is his role? We may need him and I have no idea if they want 100 pitches out of him or 20

Johnson made a gutsy coaching move putting the most physically gifted experienced player as the Ace. It worked out a little bit and Blake played well. Then somewhere along the way (maybe an injury) he lost it. Johnson has since adjusted and put other players in a position to succeed.
You really can’t fault Johnson for it. He was trying to shake things up. Put a physically opposing 6’7 pitcher out there, who’s worked hard and changed his body, and he kills it… he looks like a genius….
Now we have a great bullpen arm

He had 3 or 4 starts after that

Can't comment on his health status - no idea about that.
What I would say is:
1) It takes time to mature enough to pitch at this level for most.
2) Probably no other pitcher was penalized more by the bad fielding than Money.

I saw money in the dugout (cheering his team on I'll add) at some point I the game and thought how crazy it was that money went from not making the postseason to the Friday night starter and apparent Ace to me being vaguely surprised he made the postseason team again. In 12 months. That's a hell of a roller coaster. I really hope he can get back to his early season form.

Flat 92mph is easy to hit

He’s a fairly important mid releiver now

This...whether physical or mental, he essentially was completely ineffective after his return...
