a useless fricking scrimmage.

Its not a scrimmage, dumbass. Its the difference between 7-6 and 6-7. Or having the first losing season in 22 years. That should mean something to the players, university, and fans.

I have already said if he's not healthy, then i get it. But that's not the argument im making. What you are saying is the game is a meaningless and that is absurd. Why even play the bowl if that is the case?

No offense, but you just haven't figured it out yet.

College football that you are referencing is dead. It's over. It's moving fast. This game, in a couple of years, will basically be viewed as the Spring game.

Soon, it will become the VERY rare occurrence that a player who is draftable plays in a college bowl game. You can already see the change as fans pretty much accept it.

The opt outs we've begun seeing in the regular season is going to become a more common occurrence.

Every fall, fans will be super excited as the season starts, and by October / November, most will be playing freshman and sophomores only as upper classman opt out since they are no longer in the hunt.

This is probably the first time in history that consumers of an extremely popular product unwittingly decided to destroy it.

I just don’t get the outrage about a player not wanting to play or towards the fans that don’t care unless it’s a CFP game. If you want to watch then watch if you don’t then find something else to do. If a player wants to play then great I will watch the player and if he doesn’t I’m fine with that as well. I will watch the players that want to play in the game.

I understand at the end of the day the game will not mean anything but I enjoy watching LSU play football so I will watch and be emotionally invested during the game (not at the beginning because I will be emotionally invested in watching the basketball team play Kentucky)

I guess my point is I will do what I enjoy doing and I really don’t care what any other person (a player or a fan) decides to do as that is their right to make decisions on their own life.

I saw that. Why was he not practicing? I thought that 0 said he was practicing in some fashion over a month ago.

The obvious answer is that he decided he wasn't coming back a long time ago and Orgeron decided (probably for himself and Brennan) not to publicize it.

So from a QB room that was stacked, all but Brennan will have departed? If Nuss leaves, then as with all the others, good riddance.

While I agree and think Nuss probably wants to start, I think the adults in the room (Kelly, Davis, and Nuss’s dad) may have told him it’s not worth it. I’m not a big redshirt guy, but you never know what’s going to happen. I’m sure Myles is glad he’s still got his 5th year. Bet Joe Burrow is pretty happy he had his, too.

Why wouldn’t he be?

It wouldn't surprise me if he was already gone.

That’s fricking stupid. Didn’t he sign when we still had Myles, Max, and Finley on the roster and Howard already committed? Seems the QB room is more favorable for Nuss now than when he signed, so why would he leave now?

I think he will play but will lose his freshman eligibility year so will only have 3 years left to play. Why would ncaa grant a waiver? I dont get that part. But then again I'm kinda lost on understanding how many signees you can sign and if that mark carries over from season prior if did not sign 25 and transfers. So with all the rules yah I don't get it

Many don't.

FTR, I see things the same as you do

So maybe he's waiting to officially hear no on the waiver

Otherwise, if he doesn't play in the bowl game, he should just move on

It's too bad that O didn't play him more during the season had he known the Johnsons were leaving, but sometimes it be that ways

If you read between the lines, Nussmeier is gone after the bowl game.

It doesn't make logical sense to pass on an opportunity to start a game for a redshirt as a freshman, if you plan on being at that school.

Brennan coming back seals it.

Incorrect. Lets play this theory of yours out:

1) If he was gonna leave, why would he wait? he would already be in the portal.

2) what it does show is that he wants as many years to work with as he can given that his future is uncertain. Look at Brennan, he is coming back for his 6th year and wouldn't have that opportunity without a regular redshirt and covid year. Nuss is making sure that if he loses that job to Walker Howard that he can either transfer and have as many years as possible to show the NFL what he can do or that he has enough eligibility to play a year after Howard potentially goes pro.

People referencing the bowl game offense need to realize it will be nothing close to what you have seen since Miles.

I'm expecting Taysom Hill lite

Direct snaps to the RBs

Paul Dietzel could call this game from the grave.

That year won't help him any if he stays and never plays next year, which is likely

He would still lose a year

He is only waiting official word on a possible waiver, which probably has a chance to happen, if the network broadcasting goes to the NCAA and bitches about advertisers not wanting to pay to see 1950s football and punting on 3rd downs.

This is literally only an issue at LSU under coach O. Show me an example of any player on any other team just shutting it down mid season like Stingley and Ricks did this year.

that was just lip service, no way was he getting an exemption because he had no justified reason to request it
