I know we will find out soon, but what are we thinking? 4.4?

I really don’t think this metric will even matter. There are too many clips of him making SEC speed defenders look silly. His on field speed and quickness is already impressive and proven.

4.4 probably!! Doesn’t really matter in the big picture

There is something Jordan-esque about how Daniels just glides through defenders.

There’s quick and there’s fast. Jayden is both.

Depends on if he is bulking up for the nfl yet. He needs to per some nfl scouts. Easily 4.2-4.3 range imo

BTJ is faster than Daniels and just ran a 4.33. It's highly unlikely JD would run anything lower than that.

I imagine he'd run in the mid-high 4.3s. He's fast and has really good initial burst, so he could crush the 40 if he trains.

Is it confirmed he will even run it? He has absolutely elite open field speed, you can see it on tape. It really isn't even necessary for him to run it.

Not sure about on the track but has an elite speed faster than most dbs on the field and his top in speed will not reflect how well he sees the defense as he moves through them like an elite receiver.

Yes

BTJ walked him down on the long TD run against UF. Looked like he was trotting

4.4-4.5

I’m curious to see if he can show an explosive burst

Definitely a 4.5-4.7 range. Anyone that’s running that fast in the open field, if a defender misses or takes a poor angle it’ll be hard to recover.

A 4.3 would put him with Michael Vick, who ran a 4.33. I just don’t see that kind of speed when I watch JD run. There’s fast, and there’s 4.3 fast.

I honestly doubt he’s training much for the 40. Probably low 4.5 range

He probably shouldn't. It could only hurt him.

Of course if he is routinely hitting low 4.3's in practice, go ahead.

Yeah, there is a ton of footage showing his elite field vision and burst leaving elite defenders in the dust. I mean, he had 167 yards on just 11 carries in 3 quarters against Bama's D. No QB has ever done that to their D.

Low 4.4, he outran DBs on a pretty regular basis.
