quote:

He teaches a good amount. You should know the game when you come in but In reality, you barely know anything compared to how he wants you brain to function. I 1000000% know the game better now due to his philosophy.

You realize we went to the CWS finals, won the SEC & SEC tourney 4 years ago, right?

Maybe recruiting can be attributed to CPM.

we all love CPM, but its time honestly. He has an amazing record and has done what many NCAA baseball coaches dream of but he should gracefully exit or work on some exit strategy and participate with finding a successor. He could still be involved if he wanted I'm sure, everyone respects him but its time.

Head-scratching lineups, strange pitching changes, sloppy base running?

My former high school coach had a son that played at LSU. This message was one where I asked him what he and his son thought about Maineiri in May of 2019. This was his response. This coach also played at LSU.

Here I go

Manieri is an a-hole bro and has everyone fooled with his quiet demeanor in front of press. He brow beats the team and is very personal with his comments toward many including my son. I’ve lost all respect for the man honestly. He don’t let his coaches coach and has say so on everything except maybe calling pitches. Don’t let boys bunt or run on own ever! Treats em like little leaguers in that respect.

They don’t practice the little things like we did and it shows up a lot in their play. We don’t hold runners well, don’t run any bunt defenses, any 1B/3B offenses or work on base running. He treats em like professionals and thinks they should know it all.

He also bleeds the life out of them and never gives any positive feedback whatsoever including during the game. No high fives, no knuckle bump, slap on arse! Nothing! He coaches with no fire and his negative vibe is rubbing off on team. They are playing for themselves right now and in spite of him honestly.

Rant over but this is what is going on behind the scenes. He does not trust his decisions and that’s why he changes lineups so much. Hopefully we can go on a run!

Downvotes are funny! I know it’s hard to tell if something is genuine this day and age on the internet but my post is the god honest truth.

You’d be surprised at how many former players and families dislike PM once they see how the players are treated once they’re on campus.

This is stupid, same thing is said of most coaches including Skip They aren’t there to be your friend

No but skip didn’t throw players under the bus!! Paul M blames a players repeatedly when he makes a mistake that cost a game or has. A bad game and it’s always players fault never takes responsibility!! He refuses to hire a decent hitting coach cause he only hired “Yes” guys like Cain ... Nolan has one travel ball guy who does all his Recruiting for him in state and if you piss that guy off Nolan fine worth you no matter if you can play ( 2022 cf right now who they pulled offer from and best in state has offers at Other sec schools) Nolan also has to be worst in history as when and when not to send guys at 3rd he is horrible . Stop bringing up 2017 cause we were loaded and had a hitting coach on staff while those guys were freshman/ soph so one year he gets to Omaha when LSU name alone will get you a top 5 class year in year out. Why are we mostly freshman this year when covid allowed everyone to come back and all these rosters are loaded?? Cause Paul runs them off . If you ever been around him (not on camera) n seen way he treats players and people in general a complete prick with zero character

I think cpm coaching style is more old school and is past his time. I believe it is time for him to go regardless. We have been number 2,3,4,7 in last 4 years and plus people able to stay another year and we can't break top 25. The only school to out recruit us is vandy. No reason we shouldn't be top 10 every year. With only having 2 paid assistants the head coach needs to be a pitching or hitting coach. The last true hitting coach we had was canizaro. In 2015 we had 130sb and batting avg.was .314, in 16 95sb .295avg. Then he left 17 we had 78sb .289avg, 18 70sb and .283, 19 61sb .273avg , I dont count 2020. Now in 2021 half way through we have 27sb and avg .272, and still have to play 10 usc, 9 olemiss,1 ark. Numbers don't lie. In a 5 year span we have declined every year. Time to get somebody new to turn the numbers the other way.
